Wow Bristol city are ambitious
Good luck to them and mean that genuinely, they've had $$$$ to put up with for years.
Sad that the 10k Wolves fans who managed to get to MK couldn't get to every away game, seems to suggest there was a fair few "tourists" there! What's the distance from Wolverhampton to Bolton as a reasonable comparator?
They're a rubbish embarrassing club
We weren't allocated 10k at Bolton
Of course they won't go every week, it's a one off. Like a cup final
We didn't sell out at Bolton.
Good luck to them.
Anything that encourages fans to go to any game is fine by me.
Good luck to them.
I hope they do well, always had a soft spot for Brizzle C, it's quite staggering how such a massive city as Bristol has hardly had any top flight representation in the past hundred years or so.
This in spades, had some "interesting" experiences at Ashton Gate back in the day but hope they exceed the 5k.
I daresay some fans could say the same here.
I remember the Prem season some Arsenal fan getting sucker punched by some coward in a Wolves shirt.
I work in MK so want them to go up. Hope the Bristol fans have a good day out but a $$$$e result!
If you need a social media campaign to go to a game, then god help ya
As regards Bolton, 2258 wasn't it? For a mid table second tier team, in a nothing game? And people are knocking it!!!!
A nothing game? Pivotal to our promotion chase
People will sit behind their keyboards and go mad at the fact we've only taken 700 to Huddersfield next week.
Thought there were more then that there sketchead.
Good luck to both sides.
Totally missed the point my comment re Bolton was to try and respond to the sarcatic OP
However as you appear to want a make a hpoint was at Bolton last Saturday, round trip of 200 miles, be at the Mol on Saturday, season ticket holder for 30 plus years round trip of 220 miles and stopping the night at Huddersfield as no trains back to North Wales. How about you, sat behind your keyboard or actually going to Huddersfield?
But the two most important were there....you and me
I find it interesting how you always knock Wolves fans
As you know I'm quite a dedicated fan, but under attack here for sitting behind my keyboard, if it were only true I'd be £1000's in credit!!!!!!
I know you are dedicated
Have you linked the right post?
Probably not, but track back to Sketchead et al, truly fantastic supporters I only wish I could aspire to their level of dedication and support!:embarassed:.
See where you are coming from mate
Let's enjoy the game, lubricate the windpipe and support our team
Wolves Official Website says 2,284 Maws, every extra fan counts , thought it a good following myself.
It was a good following.
It was bloody freezing standing there
As did I, and was actually there.
So I guess you are joining in the criticism of my post about the Bolton attendance, must have been as it's the only one on this thread:embarassed:.
So go back and check, my comment was made in the context of the OP ridiculing Bristol City's campaign of taking 5k to Milton Keynes. I wish them well.
The irony of course is I was actually at Bolton were you?!!!!
Sorry Rhos, not knocking you mate. More replying to maws.
Saying I thought is was a good turn out all things considered.
Could have been more as you say, Bolton is just a couple of hours up the M6.
Am always grateful to fans like yourself, and thousands of others, who follow the lads around the country.
Wish I could have been at Bolton, my dad lives 20 minutes away round the M60 in S. Manchester.
I like Bristol City and hope they have a really good season. Bit unoriginal though.
No probs just being hyper-sensitive I guess, my original post was only meant to praise Bristol City's campaign, not criticise our following. I travel to 90% of away games and know how fantastic our away support is.
No worries. I often make a point of congratulating our away fans after a game on the comms threads. I know a fair few who follow the club around the country every game, they are great guys, like you, loyal whatever.
cheapest tickets were like 28 quid weren't they though?
bleedin' rip-off merchants
Too true but think away fans have to pay similar at the Mol.
Didn't know that
yes i think its £27 for away fans in the lower steve bull.
crikey hope im not going going to get banned for calling 28 quid a rip off
Didn't go Bolton but will be at Huddersfield and Bournemouth but not Norwich, that make me a part timer? I just happen to have a life outside wolves or I'll be in Manchester for Phoenix nights instead of Norwich away!!
I like Bristol City so I say well done to them of they do it, nicking a wolves idea tut tut, but the idea that wolves only go in numbers because of a campaign?? I remember tranmere one Xmas where there must of been 7000 of us the gates were nearly kicked in was mental. But I think most of us only went cos of a campaign!!!!
Modern society maws
I find these types of campaigns pretty embarrasing and awfully modern football if I'm honest. So if you're knocking the Bristol fans for that (and did our own campaing) fair enough.
But if you're knocking it because its 5k and not 10 (which we didn't do) get your head from up your own $$$$! 5k is a great following away for anyone (its worth noting our average is probably around 2k which is still pretty damn decent especially with the barriers put in supporters way thesedays)
These type of things don't bother me one way or another but it can't be denied the whole 10k2MK was good and if a similar thing works for Bristol City good luck to them.
The things that rile me are when they blather on about Leeds taking, what was 6 or 7K to Blackburn. A journey of less than 50 miles on a virtually straight run. Wolves take far more to MK on a longer journey and a league lower yet Leeds are hailed as having this fantastic support.
And before anyone starts yes they have a good following.
Separate names with a comma.
