Up to now I've treated those who have slagged off/bad mouthed Dave Whelan formerly of Blackburn Rovers and now of Wigan Athletic with a great deal of scepticism. After all the tackle he suffered at the FA Cup Final way back then ended his football career. I'm currently reading 'A Different Shade of Green - The Alan McLoughlin Story', in which McLoughlin discusses his treatment by Whelan after he suffers injury. It is extremely difficult to feel any sympathy for Whelan when he is capable of behaving in such a manner. One would have thought that an individual who suffered an injury that ended his career would be more sympathetic to those who suffered an injury.
