And if you are asking-Crap.
I only check the thread to make sure it's not Mike Jones.
This season 23 games 76 yellow cards and 4 red cards. Already had Reading twice home they won and away they drew. Only had 6 championship games this season
He is poor
Worse than Jones or on a par with him?
Doesn't seem too different to the usual standard these days to be honest.
As I said .Weak
You know Jonzy you must stop defending these referees.
Talking of crap refs I see Jones is still being kept away from the Prem. He will be making a horlicks of Millwall v Huddersfield this weekend. Don't think he has reffed in the Prem since his howlers in the Liverpool v Leicester match on New Years day.
Are you saying this is only his 7th championship match of the season 4 of which have been Reading games? Cant be right surely.
Already have Reading twice, home win, away draw.
That how I read it so this is his 7th game in our league & 3rd including Reading.
Who you Re$$$$g this weekend Jonzy?
haha why is the abbreviation for refereeing on the filter.
One at home and once away.
Well what an awful ref, not so much for his decisions but for the way that he conducted himself all afternoon making sure that he was the centre of attention with unnecessarily long discussions with player over trivial matters.
In addition to his own time wasting he failed to deal with Reading's time wasting tactics and only added 4 minutes stoppage time.
I would take a guess that the ball in play stats for todays game were probably the lowest of the season and if he always refs like he did today I bet his average ball in play stats must be the lowest for any ref. Is there anywhere this can be checked?
Don't forget the longest spray lines i've ever seen, what a $$$
Absolute joke. One of the worst we've had in a long time. Shades of Halsey when number 23 for Reading (Williams?) scored the winner, having committed at least 3 bookable fouls beforehand, and appearing to headbutt Evans. Missed some blatant bodychecks by Reading defenders, whilst penalising any contact at all from Wolves players. Allowed Reading to play on for about 10 seconds at one point before pulling play back and giving them a free kick, yet 5 minutes later didn't do the same for us.
I will shorten it for you....
What a complete $$$$ER
Did I not say yesterday he was weak and poor?
I rest my case .
It became embarrassing how inept he was.
Wasn't the reason we lost by all means but what a shocking referee.
I think the biggest problem with referees in the Championship is that in many ways it's some sort of no man's land. You either referee in the Championship because:
A) You're not good enough for the Premier League, or have made too many errors there,
B) You're a young upstart on his way, therefore feel the need to try and make a name for yourself,
C) You've been dropped by the Premier League after a clanger.
In any case, I can't imagine referees enjoy the Championship for those reasons, they probably see it as a punishment, a judgement on their ability or an opportunity to make their name. In all of those cases it's the clubs that suffer.
Well you were bang on with that.
Never had control of that game, truly shocking display
You were bang on the money...:embarassed:
terrible ref...not blaming him for our defeat in any way..
just fed up of inept officials,he being one of the worst
completely ruined the flow of the game, although reading were timewasting
he wasted more time than them, booking a player took ages if he lectured a player it took ages, their fullback everytime he took a throw his feet were on the pitch not by a bit either.
he sprayed a line around the ball at our freekick..I think it was evans who rolled the ball back,no more than 2inches still inside the sprayed mark and he made him put it forward 2 inches!!how $$$$ing petty.
then to sum him up..there were 6 subs in the second half so 30secs a sub that's 3mins injury time,,he played 4mins,so for all their (and his) timewasting he played 1 minute injury time useless $$$$er!!
Agree Mexy although in my experience most fans don't know the throw in rule about where your feet can be.
Very poor ref, killed any momentum throughout the whole game.
Point of information. It is only a foul throw if the WHOLE of one or both feet are on the pitch and not partly.
Funny how the refs are always $$$$ when we've played poorly and lost!
We played poorly yesterday.........but the ref was also $$$$
We played well against Bournemouth and lost, due to awful decisions by Mike Jones.
Yesterday we were poor and lost because we were poor though the ref was awful. There were no obvious game changers like the Bournemouth game but the disruption of any flow the long stoppages and the lack of stoppage time didnt help which is why I'd like to know the ball in play time.
I think ball in play generally averages around 60 minutes. I'd be surprised if yesterday it exceeded 50 minutes but that was just my gut feeling rather than fact - I may have been biased as I was so $$$$ed off at how things were going.
I think the powers that be in the refereeing world have got things way too far their own way in the upper levels of the game and are operating in an artificial comfort zone. They lack any appetite to be held to account.
I'd like to see some kind of refereeing performance level league table compiled using opta stats. How long a ball is in play in a game should be a very basic and easy to measure stat. I believe that the average in the professional game is around 60 minutes. If a ref is playing substantially less than 60 minutes either on a once off or average basis then that would be solid evidence of poor performance relative to normal and the ref would be under pressure to improve. Similarly if a ref was playing massively longer particularly when say one of the big sides was losing or drawing then that would also be evidence of biased and poor performance. Something needs to drive standards up and self regulation is clearly not working.
Good points. It was almost as if the Reading players knew that this ref would not pull them up for time wasting, and so did it whenever they could. V. effective tactic in fact if you can get away with it. Disrupted Wolves, and they allowed themselves to be disrupted by it.
Not an excuse btw, Reading won deservedly and should have had more goals.
