Replaced by Mark Pougatch as lead ITV football presenter 'with immediate effect'
Still better than Crooks but that isn't saying much.
Excellent news, can't stand the dreary, monotonous, soporific tone of his voice.
Thank God. Both him and big nose Townsend gone now. Only that plank Tyldsley to go now.
Thank God for that!!!
Don't get me started!
What do you expect from a $$$$e fan!
There is a god
That as well !
This is absolutely nothing to do with Chiles being a Baggies fan at all, this is just my honest, unbias opinion.
For me, ITV do the worst, and I mean THE WORST football coverage out, and that is mostly down to Adrian Chiles, Andy Townsend and Clive Tyldesley, who are all awful. Obviously ITV are finally seeing the light, as they've already announced they're not renewing Townsend's contract and now they've binned Chiles. They just need to get rid of Tyldesley now!
Let's all have a disco! arty:
Until we find out he's been lined up to take over Match of the Day and the pre-match presentation duties at Molineux that is. uke:
Jesus, it took them a long time to find out he was a baggies fan.
Well in fairness he never liked to mention it.
Can't see he'd be any worse than shouty man to be honest
Chiles on R5 is the most boring monotone presenter ever.
He has a voice that makes you want to slash your wrists.
I agree. I can't believe that R5 had him back, he left MOTD2 to go to ITV, he left the One Show to go to ITV and has now been sacked from both, yet he worms his way back into the BBC. He's $$$$e at whatever he does
Whenever he is on, I just turn over
I don't mind, him but I hate that commentator who has to drama everything up, mention something that happened at a game 30 years ago & could happen again constantly plus reminding me about the bloody away goal every 5 mins like anyone watching doesn't know the rules.
Well that's made my morning!
Never liked the guy and thought he was an atrocious sports presenter. ITV really did down grade when he was appointed!
Tyldsley and Drury always spendthe start of every game stating where the game is ,what the occasion is ,what happened the last time they met ,drone drone.
Both of them plus Townsend are oblivious to the action. One game in Brazil they spent over 2 mins at the start on total waffle and never mentioned the action once.
You mean they were actually any good ?
Cannot understand why Pougatch would want to go there as there will be very little Football to present soon unless of course money talks "Perish the thought".
IMO, he does have a close rival in Jeremy Vine. The off button is always active when he is either on TV or radio.
Maybe my memory has clouded but wasn't it Gaby Yorath, (as she was then), Des Lynham and Steve Rider?
Agreed they may not have been top notch but they were a damn site more professional than that idiot Chiles.
Made my day .... never understood what he brought to the party.... good riddance.
Thank $$$$ for that, i'm just hoping him and Townsend don't pitch up somewhere else now.
Didn't have a massive problem with Chiles if I'm honest, sure most only dislike him because hes a $$$$ fan and therefore tend to pick up on his faults more.
Definitely prefered his involvement than the usual London biased media types. Wheres this new bloke from? ........I rest my case.
He seems to be radio 5s gopher, as he is right of the pecking order getting slots all over the place, maybe trying to force him out by $$$$ing him off?
Isnt that John Motson's raison d'etre
thank $$$$ for that
Hopefully doesn't end up on something else i watch.
Agreed, Yay another cockney to talk about the glamour teams some more, just what I wanted.
We normally have to wait for a Baggie to come on and accuse us of bias against him! Not me - he was just plain awful (on the football - not in the other stuff he's done). I always found him to be completely clueless about the game which was bad enough, but worse than that he still insisted on sticking his oar in when he had nothing to say, or tried to act as an everyman speaking for all football fans.
And that's before we get onto the fawning 'tell us about that horrendous tackle Mr Whelan sir' business.
Just to prove what a well balanced and fair individual I am, I'll happily listen to Ritchie Woodhall on the boxing without turning the sound down!
great news $$$$ing stole a living the ugly $$$$ fan $$$$.
Ok maybe I worded it incorrectly its not bias as such but I do think we (Wolves fans as a whole) pick on and pick out his faults because hes one of them lot. I agree hes far from brilliant at his job but most of these so called experts are the same!
As for Richie Woodhall agree now he does know his boxing and is head and shoulders above a lot of the so-called boxing experts/commentators Sky use.
I know but I can't stand ITV full stop.
Don't much care for Pougatch if I was to be brutally honest, always feel his football stops at the Premiership.
His co-presenter Mark Chapman on the other hand appears to have an appreciation of footballing life outside the top flight.
Recently in a debate about "if you're good enough you should play", he brought our own Steve Bull into the conversation, and used his (SB's) inclusion in the England team as a case in point. Somehow don't feel Mr Pougatch would have done similar.
Errrrrrr this has errrrrrrr really made my errrrrrrrr day. I can errrrrrrr start watching errrrrrrr footie on errrrrrrrr ITV again!
