Now I know it's only the Sun so a pinch of salt is required, but I wouldn't mind seeing him come in during the Jan window! Great player. :)

I would definately go for Surman if I had the choice. Always rated him highly when we've played them.

I would definitely get him as well - able to play LB, CM and LW. There's two positions we require quality cover in.

I'm assuming you weren't referring to LB as one of those positions..? ;)

Good little player - though I'd imagine he'll end up in the top flight and then loaned out.

I'm sure he plays CM more than the other positions?

If we were to go for him I certainly hope so as I feel we need specialists for certain positions now (wing & CM), and not utility / versatile players.

I always thought he was a natural LW but you could be right SW.

Agree with everyone, would be a good addition to the squad.

Lallana looks good as well, and i heard mick has been looking at a 15 year old centre half at saints.

I mentioned on here before I met him 2 days before we beat them 2-1. He has his feet firmly on the ground, has a kid on the way in January and is getting married next summer. None of this has anything to do with football ability of course, however, he does fit in to our young and hungry preference, and it seems has the right attitude on and off the pitch. Loves Saints, but understands their financial predicament and if the right move came along he said he would be interested. I think he would be a great addition, not just for this year, but indeed should we get promoted.

I've never seen him play. Can we have the rest of the south coast Wolves fans on this thread to help us make our mind up?

One of my workmates is a Saints fan, and says Surman is a class above the rest of the starting XI no matter what position he's picked in. He went as far as saying they'd be in League One without his effort last season.

Surman is a Saints fan through and through - my colleague says when they made their 'great escape' last season, he was the only player celebrating with the fans on the pitch. The rest of the team legged it down the tunnel but Surman stayed around for 10 minutes.

He's a natural centre mid and has a quite a shot on him apparently.
