A tight game BUT 2 -1 to the good guys! Chris and SEB for us and the poisioned little $$$$ for them.
Never do predictions, waste of time, shall be waiting with baited breath though for the usual suspects,Bod,Rocky Balboa etc and of course Ms Stewart, to put us down for another loss.
3 1 wolves, chris, blake and kites....$$$$ for small heath.
Its on Tv over here in oz 11pm sat night..What a ratings winner
I keep thinking were bound to draw a game, so 1 - 1. Hopefully this will turn out the way my Sheff Utd prediction did.
Wolves 4 - 0 Blues... another shut out and Phillips throws his toys out of the pram...
carsley came off injured last night..
Drc - Quedrue and Quashie did as well, but all three are just knocks. The good news, though, is that it meant Phillips had to play 90 minutes, after half an hour or so at the weekend.
Seriously? Damn good news if true - thanks for bringing this to our attention DrC. Any news as to what the injury is?
edit: just read Del's update. Ta.
I did't think we would win last night, I really cannot see us winning 8 on the spin.
It may well be one game too far, even if the players injured last night are fit, how fit will they be?
It may be a game too far injury wise.
I'll say Blues to nick it 1 - 2
I wouldn't have thought we would have gone on two 7 game winning streaks before half the season had finished.
I also thought that Sheffield United away would be a very difficult game but time and time again this season we have demonstrated that even if we are not in charge of games we have enough at both ends of the field to ensure we score more than we concede - and I don't think Blues give us much more to worry about than any other team as long as we continue to put the ball in the net.
By all accounts Blues are hugely inconsistent, they can be exhilarating and clueless in the same game and if we can keep them out when they're on top I don't think they will be on top of us for 90 minutes.
Ill go for 2-2
Mcfadden and Phillips for them
Iwelumo and Kights for us...
We're the best team in this league and if we play like we did when they last visited Molineux, but now with E-B and Big C leading the line we should win this one.
My only worry is Phillips returning to his happy hunting ground . . .
We can actually afford to lose this one!!
I said the same before last night's game, but this will be a HUGE game for Blues. Lose, and we're 9 points ahead. Of course, it's also a big game for us - it's against our local rivals who will be up there in May, and ANY points we can take off them benefit us.
A draw for us is a good result in the current circumstances - they need to win.
Last night's result means that we're only 1 point away from my dream scenario of 4 pts from 2 very important games.
I think we'll get that point in a very exciting game.
Wolves 2 Blues 2
(SEB, Kites for us, little rat and McFadden for them)
I have a feeling that our young and fast will beat their experienced but slow 2-1.
The guys if there up for it which im sure they will be will turn on the style vers brum, and give them a good old tonking.
Brum remind me of us few seasons ago, all big names but cant play as a team.
Mick has been superb this season and keeping them level headed.
Dont care how we win or what the score as long as we get 3 points and stop phillips scoring.
Am going to have to predict 2-1 again. Iwelumo and SEB.
We're building up another head of steam and I think the players - regardless of fatigue or injury - will turn on the style as their confidence must now be 'outer space high' (it was sky high before the Blades game!).
In short our tempo will be too much for Blues. Bring it on!!!
Yep, I'll go for an Archbishop Desmond scoreline. Think I'll have a fiver on the 021-ers as a safety bet.
I see they had another top crowd last night, will they even sell their allocation? Can't see a clean sheet, but keep Phillips quiet, and we are bound to score. 3-1 our last coming as they try to equalise.
Wolves 1 Birmingham 3
last night will have taken a lot out of the team.
A well earned day off for the players today, Mick on the phone sorting out loan deals. I will take a draw, 1-1
back to winning ways at QPR
I really fancy us to turn them over. Last time when it was 3-2 we have moved on alot since then and are a far better side. A 2-0 or 3-0 victory would be great. It's also another 2 games we would be ahead of the Villa reserves.
There's a pretty good chance that we're going to have 50 points after 21 games .
After Saturday, we have a relatively easy schedule, but so do Reading. On 20 December its Reading v B'ham and we play Doncaster. This could be a very merry Christmas indeed.
I'd take a draw on Saturday and 3 points against QPR.
If we get 6 points out of those two then it's time to believe that the almighty has put his Old Gold and Black scarf back on, at last.
2-2 on Saturday.
Actually, many of us would have taken two points if offered it before the Sheff Utd and Blues games...
Weren't we thinking the opposite last weekend with Reading at home to Saints - it is this kind of mentality that leads to slip-ups against teams near the bottom of the table.
Last night, most fans were worrying about how many points our lead might be trimmed by, and it went the other way - football would be boring if the fancied team won every time.
Sorry, I'll try not to mention it to Mick and the boys, I wouldn't want my idle speculation on a message board to ruin their focus.
Good - now don't do it again!
I'd hate to dissapoint you....
Wolves 0 -2 Birmingham
The toils of last night will take their toll and Birmingham are just starting to hit some form. Last home game against genuine quality opposition we were routed 3-0 looking to make it 8 wins on the bounce and I fear a similar scenario on Saturday.
Blues last six results:
28 Oct 08 QP Rangers 1 - 0 Birmingham
3 Nov 08 Birmingham 0 - 1 Coventry City
8 Nov 08 Nottm Forest 1 - 1 Birmingham
15 Nov 08 Birmingham 3 - 2 Charlton
21 Nov 08 Swansea city 2 - 3 Birmingham
25 Nov 08 Birmingham 2 - 1 Ipswich Town
You're right they really are starting to hit some form
.................Well, maybe over the last 3
We may be a bit knackered after last night but the adrenalin will flow. Keep the tempo up, get in their faces (especially KP) and we will beat a side who all round aren't as good as us. But I really do hope Mancienne is fit.
2-0 to Wolves
Mancienne could be just the guy to keep Phillips quiet - if he plays. On that basis 2-1 to us. Otherwise 2-2 with Phillips scoring an equaliser in the 86th minute.
Cold & dull.
I'll take it!
I think MM has played a blinder in perhaps 'saving' Mancienne for this match. Phillips has guile, instinct and pace, and of our defenders I think Mancienne is the best to deal with this threat, due to his thought process and reading of the game.
I really hope Mancienne is back for this one, the thought of Collins vs Phillips fills me with dread. No slight on Collins but they are just different types of player.
Prediction 1-1. We're well overdue a draw...
If we win on Saturday...it would just be an incredible result and incredible start to the year. We played Reading when looking for a record equalling 8th straight win, so presumably we go into the Birmingham match in the same predicament. It would be quite something to achieve it on the back of the Sheffield Utd and Blues games. So tough were these two games that I don't even know who we play after saturday...
Did Mick delay sneezing in Mancienne's direction until Thusday to ensure the flu came out in force for Tuesday night?
Mick is doing well but I think this is stretching his powers somewhat.
4-1 to Wolves (Seb 2, Iweleumo and kites)
8 games and equal the record
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 1 Birmingham City
Wolves 3-1 Blues
2 - 0 to the good guys, SEB and Iwelumo to score
Come on the Wolves
