lets hope big chris, stearman and mancienne are ok for tomorrow night, we are going to need our first choice back four to nullify beattie and sharp...

    will dave edwards play ?

Dave Edwards should play i think he brings alot more to the table then Henry. pushes forward and attacks more made some nice little runs on Saturday, Henry i find can be quite static in the middle of the field to much for my liking. Stearman was a knock to his ankle and Big Chris had a tight Hamstring so may be ok for Tuesday night.

henry will be straight back in, especially away from home. will edwards play as part of a narrower midfield ?

I'd be amazed if MM were to change tactics for tomorrow night's game, seeing as our traditional 4-4-2 has served us so well thus far.

To be honest if either Stears or Mancienne were out I wouldn't be too concerned as I think Shackell could do a job against the Blades - in fact, dare I say it he may be a better option. Beattie's not that quick and I think we might need a bigger player at the back to fight him "lb for lb", as it were!

As long as one of them is available to counter Sharp's pace we should be ok.

In my view whoever wins the midfield battle is going to take the 3 points. And I think ours slightly shades theirs on paper - particularly on the wings.

Edwards was the best player on the pitch saturday and given Mick's recent statement about players playing well and keeping the shirt he'll look pretty foolish if he drops Edwards.

Henry will come straight back in, mainly because he is our only defensive midfielder. Can see Edwards being pushed out onto the wing though

Mancinne was sent away from training 'shivery and achey' . If that's flu, and it sounds like it, he won't be playing Tuesday or Saturday either. Bad news if so, with Phillips lying in wait!

We need our defence to be quite aggressive and kick lumps out of the blades. Make them think twice about taking time in the box.

Take no prisoners. Shackell is the man for the job. He can afford a few bookings too.

Could Henry replace Jones, with Edwards staying put? With Jones one booking away from a suspension, maybe he'd like all three options for the Blues game.

Mancienne's illness - who knows? Sometimes those sorts of things can be over in 24 hours.

If Kightly or Jones get booked tomorrow night they will miss the QPR game, not the Blues match.

    Henry/Edwards = Norwich 5 Wolves 2

Jones is needed in our midfield. The most intelligent on the ball player we have.

Correct - he's our best user of the ball. But I think its ridiculous to say those two couldn't work because of that one loss.

Also, great to hear they won't be suspended for Blues, whatever happens.

Think a straight red would put them out of Blues game, but I know what you mean.

He was taken out of the midfield and we struggled to pass out of it. Edwards game is based on running into spaces and splitting the opposition. 2 completely different type of midfielders. We need Jones in the middle, especially at a tough away game.

Its going to be harsh to drop Edwards though......which is a nice dilemma to have for a change.

That's right, they are two slightly different players. But what annoys me is this: Henry - he's there to break up the play. Jones - he's there to pass. What I liked about Dave Edwards was his all-action nature. He was combative and broke play up brilliantly, he drove forward with the ball, he picked out strikers and wide men early and fed good balls, he got in goal-scoring positions and got a few long-range shots off. I think the best midfielders have it all.

It really is a difficult one though. But I think, whatever their best attributes are, consistency is the king. And at the moment, Henry and Jones have shown they can consistently perform to a level. If Edwards proves that he can consistently produce a performance like Saturday, then he's in with a shout of a regular place.

  18. Yep, Big Chris + Stearman should be "ok" according to Mick, but Mancienne is still ill. So i'm guessing we'll see -

    --------Ikeme------
    Foley-Stearman-Collins-Ward
    Kights-Henry-Jones-Gray/Edwards
    -----Iwelumo-SEB---

I reckon Gray will get the nod on the left as it's an away game. That's if he isn't still $$$$ed from the weekend.

Have you seen the players they have available - Howard, Beattie, Kilgallon, Kenny, Naughton, Quinn, Halford - they will be really tough.

Ask yourself how many of those would get in our first choice XI. I reckon none.

I suppose I'd swap Beattie for Liam Hughes if they gave us £2m as well.

Possible Blades Line-Up: Paddy Kenny, Kyle Naughton, Chris Morgan, Matthew Kilgallon, Sun Jihai, David Cotterill, Gary Speed, Brian Howard, Stephen Quinn, Billy Sharp, James Beattie.

There's a fair bit of $$$$ in there.

I take your point - those players wouldn't strengthen our team, but they also wouldn't weaken it too much either.

We're only 12 points clear of them after nearly half a season, but yeah, obviously Morgan>>>>>Stearman and Sharp>>>>>>Ebanks-Blake.

Deutsch - can you point out where I mentioned Morgan or Sharp - they have a good nucleus of players (the ones I mentioned not you) and will give us a very stiff game - I am more than happy to be wrong and us trounce them.

If that is the case, I will kneel down in homage to the all-knowing Deustch Wolf.
