Another sad fact to make us realise that the money in the game today is not good for the sport in general. This from the BBC gossip column:

The average age of Premiership crowds is 43 and fewer than 10% are under 24. (Guardian)

And this is supposed to be the most exciting league in the world!

A fairly high age does seem kind of logical to me anyway. Those young and fit enough to actually be playing on a Saturday afternoon probably are.

When Bull started playing for Wolves the amount of teenagers and 20-somethings grew massively.
It all depends on what you're being dished up and how much its costing.
You'd think that 43yr olds might have a few kids and a big mortgage to stop them going so often.

Youth football up to u-17's is played on a Sunday morning round here.
Most work/pub teams play on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
Can't imagine the rest of the country being any different. Amateur football does try not to compete with the pro 3pm kick off. It suffers too much.

Hopefully the new pricing structure will encourage average ages to drop at Wolves from next season onwards.
