I asked work if I could leave early next Tuesday upon which my work colleagues asked if it was because I was planning a Valentines day surprise for my wife. No, I replied, we've got Wigan at home :)

Surely there isn't anyone out there who 'can't' make the game next Tuesday because it's Valentines day?

I'll probably be in trouble because I bought my tickets without asking my significant other! I mentioned I'd bought tickets, but I didn't say it was Valentine's and I suspect she has not yet put two and two together... I'm actually planning to take my daughter - is that bad?

My wife's birthday as well 14th February so I've got no chance.

I'd promised her a weekend away on the 18th too - fair to say when I told her we'd have to postpone due to the Chelsea game she wasn't best impressed.

My wife started talking about a joint Valentines meal out with our daughter and her boyfriend. Eventually I slipped into the conversation that I had a football match that evening (blamed the Football League and all that) and she said "Fine, you go to the match, no problem".

Should I be nervous?

No not really, if you were a baggie you would actually be married to her.

I don't know what the world is coming to when romance takes precedence over football.

I shall be at the match, and my wife will be at home

I've actually broke relationships off before at the slight mention of not letting me go out with my mates/football/playing football. I get one life & I'm not wasting it on a nagging girl no matter how good her tits were.

As long as you do something else when the footballs not planned everyone should be fine. I've yet to meet a bloke who doesn't let his girl go out & do what she wants so why it doesn't work the other way for most I don't know.

I'm in a brand new relationship which is going really well. She's not in to football, and although she is quite understanding I'm sure it would go down like a cup of cold sick if I went to the match. History tells me it would be brought up and used in evidence for eternity should I chose the match over her.
Ladies and gentlemen of the Mix ... I call upon you to advise me on my dilemma. In the words of The Clash .... Should I say or should I go now??

My mrs couldn't give a flying one about Valentines. A definite keeper.

We sarcastically wish each other a happy over commercialised tacky *******s day and that's about our lot ;)

You just haven't met the perfect pair of tits yet, but it'll happen my friend, one day, and when you do, you'll do anything for a play on those perfect funbags

For the record i'm not going to the game, there's only 4 times a year I get a free pass to her indoors funzone and i'm not missing it to see Will Grigg run rings around Danny again

Show me a fit bird, and I'll show you a bloke who is sick of banging her!! Go to the match.

It might be going well now, but it probably won't last. Go to the match.

It might be going well now, and it might last. She'll get over it. Go to the match

I'll be at the match. After nearly 20 years married she's glad to get rid of me.

I never knew what happiness was until I got married........

...... and by then it was too late. :)

I thought Valentines Day represented spending time with your one true love? The Mrs will be home when I get back.

Are you sure? I know a chap who's wife put all his football memorabilia, shirts and so forth in a pile in the garden, burned it and buggered off one day he was away at a match.

I'm really hoping for a win.

A Michael Jacobs last minute winner might lead to a few Valentine's Day domestics.

Wish my wife would do that... apart from the burning part.
