Sorry Stu I don’t like feeling unhappy with players but Donk for me plays 1 good game in 10. And the other 9 he is absolutely dire.

Of course we might still get worse, but Neves would benefit so much by having more bite mobility but with someone who can pass and play around him too.

Good squad member but for me he desperately needs upgrading if we are to thrive.

It’s all opinions though, but my lad used to rate him until he watched his play closely.

I never know what to make of Dendoncker. I feel we use him in the wrong role tbh. I think as a screening player in front of the back 4 ( if we go that way ) he could be pretty good there tbh. He doesnt have the attacking tools to play further forward imo.

I agree WWFC cant control others but we are a every prominent company. Aspiring to be good .
.And our image will attract players and fans and journalists.
We all need a strong narrative, to be told things in a positive way, not left to guess . The cost of a PR department £250,000 . The effect massive IMO
.
But....what's the point? Until we are floated? Fosun aren't particularly bothered about what is legacy lads think, so why would they hire a PR agency to spin stuff?

Do you know what, I have had a wave of positivity and I think with all this little leaks and tidbits over the past few weeks, I have cracked whats gonna happen.

Window opens next week, players return.. And here we have it, our new addition, flying in by private helicopter to the Love Island cast.. Is Mathew Hobbs, from Wolverhampton!

It all makes sense now.

Sky in Italy add that Paratici also met with Sampdoria to discuss the possible loan of Bryan Gil, and with Roma to potentially loan centre-back Joe Rodon to Jose Mourinho's side.

Guedes, rodon, patricio, even muted after dendocker and mouts.

Can mourinho **** off with his draw.

Him and mendes bezzie mates

Interesting piece in the Athletic today, talking about what has gone wrong at Manchester United. Here's a quote. Wolves fans may see similarities...

It was during one of Manchester United’s quarterly conference calls with investors in 2018 when Ed Woodward, the club’s former executive vice-chairman, uttered the phrase he was never able to shake off.

“Playing performance doesn’t really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business,” Woodward said.

To many United fans, those words summed up everything that had gone wrong at their club: achieving success on the pitch was no longer deemed to be a priority. It was about maximising revenue through multiple sponsorships across the globe.
Frightening isn't it

I wonder if we have ever finished the previous season and then reported back for pre-season training without making a single signing?
Even when we were in our darkest days of Division 4 ,players still arrived.
PS I don’t include Hwang and the returning loan players .

It’s a short summer, but it’s certainly starting to look that way, and that’s not what Lage said he wanted. I really do wonder what Lage thinks, when he keeps making statements about what he wants from upcoming windows, and keeps getting anything but that? If it were me, I’d find that highly demotivating.

Being known as a club which needs to sell to buy weakens the negotiating position, I’d have thought.

Yep. The only (slight) benefit is in reducing the risk of being ripped off with an over inflated purchase price. But I think this is far outweighed by the damage it does to sales values, and ability to persuade players to join.

This might have something to do with Jeff feeling burnt by the Silva window, and the failure of Trincao to live up to his expensive billing.

How was trincao expensive, we havent took the option, surely any loan fee or salary is easily accounted for (we cant be penniless)

He was on over 100k a week, came with a hefty loan fee, and the option price was 25m. When I said expensive, I was primarily meaning he was to be an expensive purchase, and the fact that he failed to demonstrate that value, will be disappointing to all concerned.

I don’t think he’s dire buddy at all. I think he lacks influence for sure, but he’s for me now our Saiss, cover across loads of positions
He covers multiple positions, equally poorly.

Has to be sold this summer - upgraded in midfield, and the likes of Gomes are better than him in defence anyway.

It’s all ok. Tuesday will see our excellent media team unveil our latest signing. Fresh from his trip to South America, Hobbs introduces Maria, the new tea lady...
This post illustrates perfectly how bad our recruitment is. South Americans specialise in coffee so unless we’re changing formation Maria will be a round peg in a square hole. For tea we should be going to India or Yorkshire, preferably India as the possibility for increasing our social media presence is huge.

The A bola article, from my noted above post

João Palhinha will be a Fulham player, apparently until June 2026, allowing him to more than double the salary he currently earns in Alvalade - from €1.2 million clean to €2.5 million per season -, Now it remains to be seen when the transfer of the 26-year-old Portuguese international midfielder with the London emblem will be made official, guided by the Portuguese Marco Silva, who in the new season returns to the conviviality of the greats of English football, in the Premier League.

Have you seen his stats? They are terrible.

And when I think of attributes, I struggle..............

Heading/defending 5/10
Tackling 2/10 (can never get close enough)
Shooting 2/10 (has duck feet)
Running with the ball 1/10 (no chance ever)
Creative passing 2/10 (90% of passes are 2 yards backward)
Shadowing opposition but never getting close enough to tackle 10/10 (this is what he primarily does)

Is shadowing really enough?

Can I ask why people think Neves, who has never played further forward in his life and models his game on Pirlo who was the classic deep lying playmaker should play further forwards?

Would say one touch passing through the lines really isn't a strength

What a ****ing mess.

**** off Wolves, ****ing me off now.

If we miss out on Palhinha too, who favoured us, and he goes to Fulham then there is something either deeply wrong or we will be pleasantly surprised,

I’m fearing the former.

Palhinha is not our first choice. Never has been. Very good news if he goes to Fulham.

People focus on every word Jeff Shi says, but always forget the most important words "95% of the players we're linked with are made up rumours". Sometimes they are made up by our competition to hinder us. Sometimes they are made up by "us" (or people on our side) to help us.

There are multiple deals being worked on at the moment, and only 2 of those names have even been mentioned in connection to us, and only one strongly linked.

Totally agree with this! Yeah the team playing a little further up the field might help him a little but he is still a more deeper midfielder..

Just a guess but he seems like the only one of our midfielders that can shoot?

"More than difficult" sorry this doesn't look like it is going to happen does it?

on the plus side, very interesting that fabrizio romano is talking about nunes to wolves as a thing though.... i think he's being fed stuff to push a certain line. reads to me it could be happening (maybe sorted with sporting?) but player side is trying to squeeze more out of it, and even nunes himself is hoping / hanging on for other offers.

would explain indifference on palhinha

seems like a dangerous game from wolves. we don't appear to be bargaining from a position of strength

I think the difference is that United were globally recognised as one of the biggest names in world football and the powers that be wanted to exploit that financially for the shareholders, balls to football.

Fosun are trying to grow that side of Wolves in order for it to drive revenue for the club within its self sustainability model. I'm not saying its successful, just making a point!

Think he regularly has one of the worst long shot conversion rates in the league? Was about 3 seasons a 100 odd shots and no goals

Nunes isnt happening i really cant fathom it, will eat my 21/22 wolves shirt if it does
I commend us for trying, and I'd love to see him in a Wolves shirt, but I'd bet my house that this won't happen. I actually think we'd be a pretty good move for him. Pay increase, good environment, chance to adjust to English football, potential shop window etc

I highly doubt it also, his agent will be advising him to wait for bigger clubs etc as they will get a nice cut also. Can see him at super league clubs
