Yes I agree, the one position now letting the side down. I just think that’s the way Bruno will go providing nunes is registered in time and ready to go. Otherwise MGW/podence instead and play 4231

As much as he's derided I see Hwang as much more of a natural CF than Guedes who kept drifting wide on Saturday.
Harsh on MGW but can't see use going 4231 against Spurs and Donk will be the defensive option.

It would make a certain amount of sense to play Jonny at LB but think Bruno likes the width from the FBs and Jonny wasn't really any better than RAN on Saturday RAN conceded a pen but should of had an assist. He's a young player and we get a lot of upside by sticking with him through his inconsistencies.

If we're not planning on selling him, I think MGW deserves a starting spot over Podence and Hwang. If anything, he's trying too hard, but his work rate and attitude have been first class. Admittedly, his flicks did start to grate on me on Saturday, as we lost the ball a number of times when a simple pass would have sufficed. Then again, it's good that he has the confidence to try things, we don't want to make him fearful of trying something special. This bit of play was really good to see.

I'd go 433 with Semedo and Jonny as the FBs. Neves, Nunes and MGW in mf and Neto, Guedes and Traore up front. Wow! What an exciting line up. Arguably as good a line up as we've put out in years.

We need more physicality up front imo. Play Adama through the middle if he's up for it.

I’d have Gibbs white as false 9 looking to drop into midfield and draw out defenders with guedes and Neto playing as wide forwards trying to exploit the space with outside to inside runs. Mgw getting back up the pitch in support with 1-2 of midfield.

If this doesn’t work or spurs cotton onto it I’d bring traore on as striker and look to have him counter through the middle.

I think that’s the team I would like but with Jonny instead of RAN
Depends on whether Bruno feels Nunes is ready in time for Saturday and Raul if he is fit of course
I very much doubt both will happen but should be good for the following week at home to Southampton
Preston in midweek will be mainly second string I suspect
