Everyone, here's the summer 2012 Transfer Window thread.

Lenge leve revolusjonen!

I'm not going to have the time to spot all links over the summer, so to make this work we'll need to crowd source the information.

If you see a Story on Twitter, in the Press or from Dennis Bergkamps Perton estate agent, post to this thread and I'll add updates to the main page as a summary.

Sunderland are being constantly linked with Fletcher.
Stoke & Southampton are also being linked with moves for Jarvis at £6m and £4m in that order.
Karl Henry has been linked to Sunderland & Aston Villa.
West Brom, Aston Villa & Stoke City have been linked with Jamie O'Hara.
Kevin Doyle has been linked with Southampton for £4m.
Wayne Hennessey linked with a £4m move to QPR.

That's all I know atm, sources are all from varying newspapers have a look on www.footballtransferleague.co.uk for more info.

I would love it if SS brings in a solid, experienced Skandinavian CH and FB and builds the team from the back. We've cried out on here for years for a decent defence but never managed to get one.

This! In all honesty our attack is decent, but our defenders have always been liabilities with the rare exception, just need a solid centre half who can pass the ball and potentially control the game. Somebody like Ashley Williams would be brilliant, obviously couldn't afford him now though haha!

I posted above, check out the website I mentioned all rumours which are accumulated on that website are purely from newspapers.

Nothing today? That's good because no-one is coming in for our best players (in today's media anyhow) but bad because it means we've been relegated and the papers aren't interested in us. The sooner I go on my summer holiday the better!

Thanks Skrilla - please keep on checking the sites you know and if you see something interesting carry on posting links here and I'll consolidate them on the main page. :top:

OK we're officially off and running.

The first update on the main page goes to...

Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson reported as a 3m target in the Mirror.

Thanks for the original link OxfordWolf.

Leon Best from Newcastle getting bounced around Twitter from Tim Nash and James Fielden but I have yet to secure a 'hard' source.

Not doubting you Arctic but surely Villa need to appoint a Manager before they can get close to finalising any deals.

Regular poster on Molineux thread on Skyscrapercity, says he heard from Henry's best friend outside football, that a deal with Villa is done and he will be off July 1 for £3.5m. Seems pretty certain of his source, and that it's signed and sealed despite their lack of a manager. If true, I wish him well.

I would be gutted if that happened

I'd be gutted too but £3.5m is a very decent price.

I'm sorry to harp on about this and I'm not questioning the source but it just seems very strange that Villa would make any signings without the input of a new Manager. They don't appear to have that much money to throw around and their season ticket sales have plummeted. So spending what could be a large part of their budget on Henry without knowing if he will fit into the new Manager's plans just sounds a little odd to me.

Don't disagree. Just passing on a rumour, but he seemed pretty sure of his source.

Seems doubtful for me too, for the above reason, plus Stale hasn't assessed his players yet either.

Thanks mate. I hope I didn't come across as questioning you or the source. Was just trying (and failing) to make sense of it in my own mind :)

That most reputable of sources the Daily Star is linking Christophe Berra with a £2m move to Fulham.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/253132/Fulham-after-Wolves-defender-Christophe-Berra/

Busy day for rumours involving players that we have been linked with (or people would like us to be linked with).

- Celtic are preparing to a £2.5m move for Icelandic striker Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson (Daily Record)

- Southampton are in talks with Burnley over a £6m move for England U21 striker Jay Rodriguez (Daily Star)

- Everton boss David Moyes is chasing Copenhagen's £6m-rated Senegalese striker Dame N'Doye (Daily Mirror)

- Huddersfield have laughed off Fulham's £3.5 offer for star striker Jordan Rhodes (Daily Express)

And in managerial news, Steve Bruce favourite to become Hull's new boss and Albion interviewing Chris Hughton, Ray Wilkins and Claudio Ranieri (various)

With the number of Irish players we've signed in recent years, I'm gonna get shot down for this from certain quarters, but... Having watched the Ireland v Bosnia Game yesterday, I was thinking about replacements for Johnson and Jarvis, IF they both go this summer. I think Darren O'Dea at Leeds would be worth a bid for a sturdy central defender. As a replacement for Jarvis, I was thinking a cheeky bid for Aiden McGeady at Spartak Moscow, wouldn't go amiss. Both players fit very well into the positions that 'may' be vacated this summer. Of course, O'Dea would do a much better job than Johnson and I think Stale would get the best out of him. As for McGeady, he's almost like for like with Jarvis. A 'jinky' type winger, small and fast, with a good cross and can also finish well on occasion. He might not want to leave a top Russian club who regularly play in Europe, but he'd do very well in the Championship and possibly later, Premiership for us. He'd have plenty of mates at Wolves and fit in well.
