I'd take:

Elokobi
Ledley
Gardner
Fuller
Earnshaw

The Norweigan left back, the unknown Latvian & Carl Robinson will have to do though.

Fuller is no better than Bothroyd. I'd be happy with Hoolahan and Ledley and playing players in their correct positions.

On his day no and I fully agree but JB is out and out lazy at times and at least Fuller, when I've seen him play, looks interested.

However I still maintain it's not forwards the club need.

Not saying Fuller is that great, but he's big, bustly & gives defences something to think about. Just the kind of player you need in this **** league.

How much did Stoke get him for?? About £200,000??

Good work compiling the list!

Bringing in half a new team will not help IMO, so I'd take only 2-3 signings in the transger window. Hoolahan or Ledley, and Ameobi (although I agree fully with Essex we dont need strikers)

I'd take Gardner and/or Diamond, Ledley, Hoolahan, and one of Riordan/Sharp/Ameobi.

the transfer window rarely gets busy until towards the end because teams won't let first teamers go until the have replacements lined up, similar to the chain you have to endure when moving house. The only transfers taking place so far seem to be free agents and players completely out of the first team picture like danny mills and robbie savage. But hey, don't let the obvious to anyone with half a brain cell stop you from having another dig at mick.

When were we linked with Fuller? Must have missed that little diamond.

I'd take the lot of them, you can never have too many strikers.

Centre Half with pace that'll enable us to buy a Creative Midfielder or play Davies/Gleeson plus cover for the Wingers. We already have enough Strikers just that they don't have the supply. Like someone else said " it's not Rocket Science.

A little more I think, but Hoddle offered a million!

Iversen is considering a move to Lazio instead of here. How very dare he?

I would like to see Mr Sharp given the chance to rekindle his partnership, and us lose Both and Elliott. Alternatively Earnshaw.

Gardner surely would never come here? We are dreaming.

Risky, but I respect that Kavanagh geezer as a bit of a leader, though getting on a bit now.

Hoolahan looks very useful but I'm not sure.

Re: Fuller - I thought it was Dave Jones who was after him (when he was at Preston)? We got quoted about £3m and ran a mile.

Pretty soon after a move somewhere else fell through due to a chronic knee injury and Pompey were able to pick him up on a heavily structured deal.

Wolves want to sign Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp. (The Star)

That old chesnut, again. I'd say leave alone TBH.

I think he could the answer if i'm honest. Put him and Keogh together and hope they perform as well as they did in League 1.

Interesting list, thanks for compiling it. Out of those mentioned, the only one that has any evidence behind it is Erland. If we are chasing some of the others we are probably facing the same problem we did at the height of the SJH spending period, players being overpriced when we come knocking. I'd agree that we really need some more creativity in midfield. I've long thought that we have missed midfielders who have the little spark of genious that can open up opposition teams, be a dead ball specialist, play that killer pass etc. We are way too huff and puff (and have generally been that way for a while. Whether this is because we buy the players but we rarely have speedy ball playing centre backs at the same time to create launch (counter) attacks or that the fear of losing at molineux stifles the players all season, I don't know. But we can all see how different we are with Kites in the side. The last midfielder who could turn a game around in the same way was Dennison IMHO. That said, from the list above I would plump for Hoolahan.

CLIVE PLATT is the latest - he's big and local (but so is that tit who follows wednesday with his belly out!) apparently a double deal with the fullback we want.

Why the bloody hell have we been linked to a goalkeeper? We've got two perfectly good ones (discounting Ikeme as I have never seen him play and can therefore not give an opinion.)

Today's transfer rumours

Pretty much old stories I think but just for those interested:
The Sun - We've bid £1 million for Billy Sharp
The Mirror - 500,000 for Kris Commons
E&S - Clive Platt from Colchester
All reliable sources of course!

have to agree, good work compiling the list - i know i wouldn't trawl through a lot of the crap posted on here to come up with this thread.

there are a few of the players in that original list i wouldn't mind seeing at wolves, but thats not to say i don't think much of it is balls.

Just my opinion and all, but i thought Fuller was shocking at the weekend - his touch was awful, and he couldn't bother a shaky Newcastle defence. The rumor is $$$$$$$$ anyway as why would Stoke sell their number 1 forward to a (local) rival?

Question - were we ever linked with David Edwards before we captured* him?

*correction - based on the current situation - taken him to the verge of signing for us...

Don't wish to count my chickens and all that :)

If Edwards has a choice he'd be better off waiting for a club that's not in turmoil like we are. He'd be coming as one of Mick's players and would have every chance of a new manager coming in soon and not liking him.

Also, there's a good chance Mick might stay and not like him anyway....on past experience, a good chance!

I have been having a look for info on the George bloke from Colchester, and the Colchester fans are amazed that anyone is interested, see the comments from their discussion board

"I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that clubs are lining up to take George"

"Perhaps they are buying him for his potential. If Wolves fans are expecting an immediate polished player i guess they are in for a shock"

"As Keegan once said "I would love it" if Elokobi went there"

Mulgrew was in the Programme Saturday. Or was that just to remind the fans what he looked like? What happened to the proposed link to returning to Scotland?
