Was walking up Stafford Street yesterday. The Steve Bull looks so depressing from this angle.

Once upon a time it would have been the other way round with it putting the rest of the ground to shame.

Pity this is the first view and impression most away fans will get of the ground.

That’s the view I see the most as I travel Up and down Stafford Street daily. You could also argue that the NB looks the most depressing as it looks so cheap and tacky from the outside. But all this has been said many times before and nothing is changing.

Wolverhampton councillor Claire Darke has proposed that Molineux should host the next Eurovision.

While my immediate reaction was - No, keep that glorified karaoke away from my Football club - it would mean that someone spends some money developing the ground. Probably improved access and a lick of paint, but that's more than Fosun are willing to spend.

The chances of it coming to Wolverhampton are pretty small, but a chance for local politicians to get their names in the press I guess.

All about opinions but I disagree. The North Bank looks great and imposing, the Bully on the other hand….

It’s a dumb idea as it’s not covered, and since it’s happening next May, wouldn’t be possible anyway as the season is still operating.

Just back from a trip to the club shop and there was some vans outside the north bank with ‘cladding specialists’ or something on the car park. There was also someone in a cherry picker seemingly looking at the outside of the stand. It might be getting a bit of a scrub before the new season.

Looking at that full Brammall Lane last night, how many times could the women fill say 2 stands at Molineux? Maybe BW, bottom tier Steve Bull, bottom tier North Bank?
Clubs really lack something for 13 days every fortnight, could the big grounds host the women on alternate Saturdays? Just thinking out loud.

I’m going to have a guess and say Zero

I’ve thought the same, but regarding the u21’s. Have Saturday 3pm games on Saturdays the senior team aren’t playing. When senior team has a Saturday match u21’s play Sunday.

Would the pitch take say 40 games a season? Think in terms of equality it will happen soon, just thinking practically.
Plus more excuse to go to any game and pub on a Saturday ;)

Could be getting rid of that translucent orange cladding which is a bit of an eyesore.

Seems the groundsman has been getting in some pre-season practice up Bantock Park. Took this pic of his handiwork whilst walking the dog at lunchtime.

The clue should have been (apart from the date !) is Laurie Dalrymple discussing the details.

It was a disgrace they got “gifted” that stadium on that deal. Effectively the UK taxpayer ((or the London rates payer) is subsidising the club. Should be taken account of in FFP or whatever!
Similar for Man City. Though let's not forget Wolverhampton council helped save the club in the 80s.

Yeah I'll admit I forgot this with my high horse rant. We get a really cushy deal off the council don't we, I believe we were given the 999 year lease last time as we'd promised to invest £40M in surrounding area including hotels/conference centre.

Back when FOSUN had some ambition for the club, now it's all about treading water.
That stadium ambition has become a dream from the past, it looks non existent now.

At most, we may see the reprofiling of the bottom tier of the Steve Bull next summer.

Lets hope so and hopefully they will segregate the concourse for when we get tin pot away support, instead of putting them in the Quadrant.

Anyone else holding out the faintest hope of hope that Guo being back might shuffle it back onto the agenda?
When I saw the recent post, for a moment, thought Guo had given the go ahead for it.
Hopefully, stadium redevelopment was discussed in some depth during Guo's visit.

Yes. I hope so. Something in him being here I’m sure

You’d think it would have come up on the agenda. This is a guy who had to be talked down from a 60,000 megabowl. Pretty sure he won’t be happy seeing some bodge job of extending out the Steve Bull lower tier with seats that won’t be covered to compliment temporary stands.

Definately would have been discussed. I also think that there’s a reason why then we temp stand wasn’t done. That would surely have been a no brainer as we would rent it , and should pay for itself.

I'd rather he sign off funds for player reinforcements or cashflow loans so we don't have to spend a top player's wages on interest payments to Macquire. Interest payments will be brutal this year.
Friend was on the club tour recently (really good he said, met Geoff Palmer who he said was a lovely bloke) and they spoke about how they can do the bottom of the Steve Bull and not have to touch the top.
Would think they could drag it much closer to the pitch and actually turn the corporate boxes into something not out of the 70s

For our younger mixers here’s a wonderful picture illustrating just how hard the club had to work to expand Molineux !!

Molineux is now established in the city centre, surrounded by the bars and restaurants that make the Molineux match experience so special !!

May it always be so

I never understood why the Waterloo Rd stand was “cranked” in the middle, and why the Steve Bull and Billy Wright stands, when the ground was eventually rebuilt, copied this design feature.

Presumably because it was thought that it would make it easier for fans in the extreme ends to view ‘down the line’!!

Noticed this job vacancy for a Financial Analyst on Wolves website, which includes the responsibility of “Support with analysis of major projects (current examples include cashflow forecasting of Wolves Records, and payback period for Steve Bull Stand projects), to help provide accurate information to support strategic business decisions.”

This job was posted a while back. Also it has a date in the footer of February 2019
