If Coady leaving meant to Neves signed a new deal as captain and the money was spent to bring in Nunes or another good CM/Striker would people be for or against it?

I think Coady’s a great lad and a huge asset for the club even when not playing, but something like that would be hard to turn down.

I wonder who’d be in for him?

Anyone who plays 5 at the back is guess.

He’s great in that position and worth the fee alone for leadership qualities.

Forest is in my head. They’ve done a complete overhaul of the squad and someone like Coady would be perfect to keep them up.

If we sold Coady, it would simply mean we would need to buy another defender as Mosquera and Toti aren’t ready and Boly has struggled massively since Covid. Also means we don’t have the flexibility to switch back to a three in some games.

Would be a really poor decision.

100% agree and for that reason it isn’t happening. In fact it would be the single worse decision we could make. End of next season maybe, not now.

IMO of course.

World Cup year, he needs to be a regular starter to make the squad.

We need to raise money to build a squad.
He’s been a phenomenal, iconic figure in our last 5 years but I can see the logic in cashing in now for both him and us.

I don’t think we’ll be selling Coady, then again I didn’t think we’d sell Doc.

However I don’t agree we’d need another cb IF we did sell him and I don’t even think it stops us playing a back 3. Boly may be more suited to the sweeer position now and Collins can play there.
I’d say Gomes is ready enough to be 4th choice cb. Mosquera is further away but would still be capable of being 5th choice.

If a big offer came in and it meant we could fund Nunes or Ramos I could understand selling. Wouldn’t like it, would consider it a big risk, but could understand the logic.

Everyone is sellable at the right price. Said it before and will say it again - whether it is Neves, Traore, Hwang or Coady. None of us will agree on the price and it always hinges on how you use the money and rotate the squad.

Plenty of examples - Ronaldo, Coutinho who left United and Liverpool for example.

If for the interests of the squad we decide to sell a player and invest wisely then fine.

Everyone is moaning about not having this or that but conviently forgetting we still have Neves (currently) and Moutinho resigned plus Collins. Striker short - sure. As we are for Midfield cover. It’s not rocket science and thanks to everyone for repeatedly pointing it out (including me again…)!!

If we can get the right player at the right price who fits then I’m sure we’ll make additions. If we cannot we won’t and we go with what we have with a fluid front line and a sprinkling of youth.

Imagine Mixers thinking we’ve overpaid in the future all to get someone in….Semedo, Silva etc….Wolves cannot please many people on here.

Will there be a surprise (Neto, Coady) or late (Neves) exit? Maybe.

Whatever happens we are Wolves and we move forward together. Let’s keep the rumours going and the banter sharp and witty not personal or challenging.

Seen another mention on twitter that Coady isnt in the squad tonight. I guess we will all find out soon enough.

Well then maybe there is something too it… Newcastle, Everton & Spurs apparently made approaches but not sure if it is one or these clubs.

Time will tell. Either way he’s been a good leader for us so I’m happy if he stays

It was in reply to Nathan Judah's recent tweet. Cant link it. Only one tweet. I suppose the same person could have seen it mentioned on here?

I wouldn't want to sell anyone in the squad, it's too small as it is.

However, if we need to sell to fund new players then Coady would probably be the best realistic option, in my opinion.

Coady is a no brainer signing for any team who wants to play with a back 3. He is one of the best sweepers going around.

I don't think the captaincy is as important to players as you seem to think it is.

No he doesn't. He needs a good amount of minutes at the centre of a three.

He needs to show high levels of performance when called upon, he needs to show he's the second best option for England when/if they play a three.

Coady is a backup for a specialist position for England. His time on the field needs to be in that specialist position.
