It’s claimed that Villa are ‘closing in’ on Bassey as they prepare to launch their raid on Rangers.
Villa want to back Gerrard with new signings this summer and seem ready to pay up for Bassey.
It’s unclear just how much Rangers will want for Bassey, but it would surely be a huge profit.
Rangers paid just £230,000 to sign Bassey from Leicester City in 2020 and can surely guarantee a huge profit should Villa make their move.
