I’m sure @giantwolf will know better than me but it feels like a big chunk of our loan players so far are going to be big players for their new teams. Seems like the days where our young players are bench fodder for teams are gone.

Yes, there has definitely been a noticeable uptick the last two seasons and as you say, of the 11 so far out on loan this season the vast majority of them will be regular first teamers - the only exception would be Sang-Bin Jeong.

Credit to the club for the better quality younger players to loan out but also to Matt Jackson (who is definitely an upgrade to Olofinjana) in getting good moves for the players. Ok, he made a few wrong calls last season (Sanderson being one), but I could see the logic in what he was trying to do,

Last night:

Lewis Richards played the first 45 mins in Harrogate's penultimate friendly as they drew 2-2 at home to Barnsley. Lewis attempted to replicate his goal from earlier in pre season but was more wayward with his effort last night.

That must bode well for his prospects of beginning the season as a starter.
Is he playing as a lwb in a back 3/5 system?

Rotherham United have decided against loaning Nigel Lonwijk despite performing reasonably well on his trial period

Dadashov comes on in the 2nd half (not technically a loan but whatever)

Can't see Campana was involved today so hopefully not injured...

What are the rules on loanees returning from the MLS as their season ends in October which is a bit out of kilter with other league seasons ?

If he comes back in October do we need to wait until January before he could play for us ?

He was injured… MCL injury (although at the minor end of the expected time out). They were expecting him to train this week

Re October… yes we will have to wait until January … several reasons… firstly he’ll have just had a full season and would need a break, secondly, his team qualified for the WC so he’ll be away, but most importantly, he isn’t named in our squad and they can only be changed during the allocated windows (aligned to transfer windows)

Last night;

As above, Leonardo Campana didn’t feature in the squad for Inter Miami in their 2-0 loss to NY, owing to picking up and MCL injury in the previous league game. They are however expecting him to train this week so the injury was at the low end of the possible time out window… 1 week - 8 weeks

Today:

Hayao Kawabe scored twice as Grasshoppers got their season started a week late, beating Lugano 2-1. Kawabe played 89 mins and was replaced by Shabani. Bendeguz Bolla played 90 mins and Sang-bin Jeong is injured so didn’t feature

Goals here:

Fabio Silva made his Anderlecht debut, coming on with 9 mins remaining. Having nearly provided an assist and missed a glaring opportunity, Silva got on the scoresheet with 2 mins left. Anderlecht won 2-0 vs Oostende

Goal:

Sounds like an excellent opportunity for Theo a championship loan is really a good way to kickstart your career as a young player.
Think he has all the attributes; also his size makes him an appealing option as a wide forward. Just needs to start improving on the decision making and getting more end product.
