Opinion pieces, which most sports ‘articles’ are, are rife with inaccuracies, speculation, rumour, etc.Accuracy is very important in journalism….. how can you say that it isn’t?
If you are known for not being accurate, you don’t get access to good sources, won’t last long in the industry or get the better paid roles
Your doing Jonny Phillips a massive disservice here.Opinion pieces, which most sports ‘articles’ are, are rife with inaccuracies, speculation, rumour, etc.
Why would I bother with someone‘s opinion? ….ergo, I don’t waste my time on them.
I think in football it’s usually a combination of the three. For me our mid-term target should be a solid mid-table team aiming for Europe if things go well.
So its not about spending money but about doing the right things to hit that target. And adapting if off that target.
We seem to have got it right now , whether by default, judgement or luck.
But that wasn’t an opinion piece…… it was a well researched article with sources close to the camp.Opinion pieces, which most sports ‘articles’ are, are rife with inaccuracies, speculation, rumour, etc.

Trustworthy or not, he's not going to be a popular man with the Wolves coaches at the moment. The way this Fabio nugget is phrased is maximally hurtful to the dressing room. It's done at a time that is deeply unhelpful. Very likely they're going to be going on internally about what bull**** that is, they haven't made that kind of judgement, etc.But that wasn’t an opinion piece…… it was a well researched article with sources close to the camp.
I don’t know what the sports media is like in Canada so cannot comment what is seen as acceptable in terms of this type of investigative journalism, in the UK media you would be hung out if you churn out deliberately misleading stories claiming to be facts.
If you are going to be deliberately dismissive, at least be accurate in how you describe the article. Also Jonny Philips is insanely well connected to the club, he seems to be “The trusted” journalist who gets any of the rare nuggets out of the club.
Maybe trust the more local fans than yourself in regards to how trustworthy he is.

Kind of a bizarre episode if I'm honest. Why would he do that?
But will he retain the same access when he's hurting the team? I'm not saying this is worth a witch hunt internally as to his sources, but I'd be pretty ****ed off right now if I worked there. It's not his job to help Wolves. It's his job to get clicks online - if he has something interesting about Fabio, of course he'll say it.
Just bumping up this postMaybe we can reset in the Champ where our financial power belongs now.

Or was it given to him to help create the interest in somebody to take Fabio in jan to help increase their transfer kitty?Trustworthy or not, he's not going to be a popular man with the Wolves coaches at the moment. Reminds me of this guy.Nothing against Fabio, but can't wait 'til he's gone tbh. Hope he flourishes elsewhere.
Never has there been so much debate about somebody who has done so little.
Possible that Fabio(or his old man) is pushing for a move again?Or was it given to him to help create the interest in somebody to take Fabio in jan to help increase their transfer kitty?
He won’t be burning those bridges…….
Clubs often let these stories out to create interest or get people who thought about an enquiry to press on to actually do it if they know a deal is possible. It can put a player higher up the “transfer target list” if it is known the club will take bids.
Leaks and stories like this can be highly mutually beneficial to the club.
His old man wasn’t exactly shy in doing that this summer was he……Possible that Fabio(or his old man) is pushing for a move again?
Jam packed, you?Busy Sunday?
I don't see how this creates interest. I agree leaks can be helpful, but saying the coaches have given up on a young guy who just broke down in tears his mentality is in such shambles ain't it.Or was it given to him to help create the interest in somebody to take Fabio in jan to help increase their transfer kitty?

Think it’s quite clear that the relationship needs to end it’s good for neither us or the player. It’s just not going to happen for the lad here.I don't see how this creates interest. To each his own, ok? You read and believe what you want, ok?But that wasn’t an opinion piece…… it was a well researched article with sources close to the camp.

Seeing as you don’t believe quotes from our sporting director on the official website I’m not sure you’ll believe anything. To each his own, ok? You read and believe what you want, ok?
So you don’t like clearly sourced stories….. ok….. how on earth did you pass history? To each his own, ok? You read and believe what you want, ok?
I do what you do…….I judge by body language. So you don’t like clearly sourced stories….. ok….. how on earth did you pass history?
Bear in mind how often you demand proof/sources/news links when people share what they hear, we have a respected journalist who has sourced directly from within GON’s own staff and you still dismiss it….. ok…… that makes next to zero sense….
With how far geographically from the club you are, with the fact you are clearly dismissing a trusted journalist to the club based in England you will never accept or learn anything about the club will you….
Do you need the tape recordings too??? As he cannot name his sources due to the ethics of journalism.
if you don’t believe sourced news stories by trusted journalists who actually have interviews with Jeff….. not many have done that, what does it take for you to accept a story???
Especially one that is from a journalist whose stuff you can take to the bank and is respected across all of British football media, not just the wolves scene.
HahahaI do what you do…….I judge by body language.
Exactly my view..... weirdly venomous article in how it talks about players.Trustworthy or not, he's not going to be a popular man with the Wolves coaches at the moment. Ok…..whatever.Hahaha
Great come back…… not even close to accurate…. But you do you…..
I made my opinion based on numerous things…. From speaking to people I know in the game, what i saw from his time at Bournemouth, then what I saw in his early interviews. Multiple things there….. not just one……
But his body language has improved, he is getting better and showing more personality in his interviews as he has gained more time at the club and infront of the media.
My opinion has also moved, as I have Said a few times.
He is learning and getting better each week and has done a great job since the Ipswich game, which I believe may be the turning point for him and in the long run it might be a great thing to have happened to him and the club. As since then, he has turned a corner and is showing more of a constant philosophy in the way we play and are set up that is what he wants to do and in a way he is comfortable with.
He wasn’t good enough, that was his problem. But he tried at a pretty dark time for Wolves.Reminds me of this guy.

It is more how dismissive you are about this and the person who wrote it based on all the times you ask for proof of why someone has said something, then you get an article researched, sourced to a person in the camp and you completely pass it off as an “opinion piece”Ok…..whatever.
Why would anyone care what I want to read?…….kinda ridiculous , don’t ya tink?
Yes, why would anyone care what you read? Why would anyone care what you think? Why would anyone care what anyone thinks? What's the point of posting it on a forum? What's the point of a forum? Anyone?Ok…..whatever.

I think the club may have learned from the summer with JL that it might be “beneficial” for them to have their own “trusted” journalist to let some nuggets out to us fans that FOSUN have been so good at keeping away from us. So when JL did what he did, he had more contacts and people in the media spread the story like wildfire causing a PR nightmare.@Vancouver - this will be accurate as the journalist is as close to an insider as you can get.
i do however share a slight concern regarding the tone and finality of some of the language and inferences here. i wonder why he’s come out with it in this manner and right now?
Please go away and be obsessed wth someone else’s reading habits. It is more how dismissive you are about this and the person who wrote it based on all the times you ask for proof of why someone has said something, then you get an article researched, sourced to a person in the camp and you completely pass it off as an “opinion piece”
This literally offers everything you ever ask for as to why people have an opinion…… it is from the horses mouth and you dismiss it.
Just odd

I don’t read the E &S much anymore…..no big deal.@Vancouver - this will be accurate as the journalist is as close to an insider as you can get.
