This is a disgrace.

Imagine a known Watford fan being the VAR in charge of Bournemouth's next game and having to cast the final opinion on a penalty that would take them within a point of the side he supports.

How has this been overlooked?

VAR will only overturn very clear screw-ups. You need there to be literally no contact on a foul.

Our penalty against Burnley at the start of the season was the same. Minimal contact, clever Jimenez movement and the ref whistles. His colleague backs him up. It's always colleagues backing colleagues unless they really have to.

The ball did hit Doherty's arm. He closed his eyes when he jumped so he didn't really know where the ball was and had the wrong body position anyway to deal with the ball coming across.

The real issue is why did Burnley have the ability in the dying moments to cross the ball over and easily win a header at the back post, with their striker unmarked by all our 3 centre-backs in the centre? Retain the ball and there is no decision for the referee to make.

For 92 minutes we were doing the right thing - right into going into the added time, we were on the halfway line, playing good short passes into players who had space and time to play another pass - and then we started letting them get the ball into the box and we were badly organised the whole time. There was the incredible Wood miss first of all where we were at 6s and 7s, Patricio rushing out to a ball he can never reach, Jonny not dealing with the ball as it came down; Wood is already free to reach the ball first, there is nobody on that post to stop it coming in if it's on target and it was a huge let-off that he missed there.

We get the goal kick as a result, we have chance to all get into position, even chance to make one last sub to really waste some time (would Kilman's height have helped?). There are just 2 minutes to go. The ball goes forward though and is immediately lost. Traore doesn't get hold of it and drive into the corner to kill the time and they can pump it forward yet again, Jonny is again unable to cut out the back post and Wood is free behind both Coady and Boly who are ballwatching. Doherty just tries to make anything of his presence known in an effort to disrupt Wood's attempt but it's ultimately a clumsy jump with eyes closed. The ball was actually just going to arc away from Wood and probably out of harm.

I'm afraid it was all very self-inflicted, as harsh a decision as it might be.

It really hurts and it feels cruel to concede so late but as Nuno said after Sheffield United, it's about maintaining concentration in the final minutes.

He's a **** that's for sure. Suffice to say - if he ever crosses the path of an unknown gentleman - he'll eat dirt for awhile.

Whether KF is or isn’t a Leicester fan is not the problem. Var removes on pitch accountability. Any decision should be confirmed by the on pitch ref with the video steamed to the crowd. Watch rugby it is light years a head and the mic’ing of the ref helps them

The one that did get me was the Bolton fan (Lynch?) who reffed our game there late 90s.
Colin Lee is still ****ed off about it. Wouldn’t happen now.
