Leeds United manager, Jesse Marsch, has suggested that young duo Darko Gyabi and Archie Gray could both be used in midfield this season for him. Gyabi arrived at Elland Road from Manchester City, with Leeds stalwart Kalvin Phillips heading to The Etihad as we well know. Gray, meanwhile, is seen as one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from Elland Road in years and there is genuine excitement around him at the club. Tyler Adams and Marc Roca, how they complement each other and understand what we want the game to look like, fit really well,” Marsch told the Yorkshire Post. “You could also include Darko and Archie (Gray) who I think are going to see playing time in that position over the season.” Both players are still teenagers but Marsch, much like Marcelo Bielsa, seems to be an advocate of giving young players a chance if they’re good enough. In Gray and Gyabi, then, he might just have two youngsters on his hands who can deliver sooner rather than later. TBR’s View: Leeds Have Some Exciting Talent There has been some excitement around Gray for some time and the addition of Gyabi is also an interesting one for Leeds. Of course, nobody expects them to simply replace Kalvin Phillips, especially at this stage in their career anyway. But with Marsch saying what he has, there is a clear objective at Leeds to get these two teenagers progressing quickly. Gray and Gyabi could well be wildcards for Leeds this season and Marsch, really, will be thanking his lucky stars he has some of the best young players around.
