i was on holiday when all this was going on and of course did`nt have the technology back then and had to rely on hourly news bulletins.Anyway at 4pm we were still in jeopardy and not saved. I was literally like a cat on a hot tin roof for the next hour, you can imagine my delight when hearing the 5pm headlines that our club had been savedPure ecstasy!!! Needless to say i had a good night

All Wolves fans should read this and be aware of how close the club was to going under. I have mentioned our perilous state back then on a few occasions.

When you realise how bad things were in those days, then finishing in the top ten in the Premier League three times in the past four seasons isn't that bad, is it?

Such a weird argument.

Because we almost went bust 40 years ago we can’t wish for anything better. Go back 20 years before that and we were the ‘champions of the world’ - why can’t we judge ourselves by those standards instead?

There is barely anything in common between now and then - different owners, staff, players etc so they should be judged to their own standard.

Objectively, FOSUN have taken us to a cup semi final, a Europa League quarter final and 7th place finish in the league. I can list a whole bunch of clubs that have achieved more than that this century.

Sunderland
Wigan
Hull
Swansea
Bradford
Ipswich
Fulham
Portsmouth
Middlesbrough
Birmingham
Leicester
West Ham

Standards and expectations have been pulled down so low because of how **** we were for 40 years that there is a push to make people feel guilty for wanting more than just being a run of the mill Premier League club.

A lot of us just want to see us win a trophy of some sort before we die - I personally don’t think that is a lot to ask for.

Agreed, if people want to talk about the past then why not the 1950s? Why is it always the worst period in the 80s? Anything to defend one's agenda.......

Sure, such a weird argument, look where most of that list are now, and their financial position.

Really only Leicester and WHU are in a better position than us now. And Leicester were bust not that long ago and shafted a lot of local businesses in the process. And WHU have got the porn kings as owners. I will stick with where we are now and our current owners thanks.

With you on this.

You can’t criticise this current board because we nearly went under twice in the 80’s and although bang in relegation form, we still finished mid table in the top flight. Don’t be so ungrateful.

I remember the demo out the front of the Billy Wright after we sold Robbie Keane and lost to Walsall at Molineux. Sir Jack took a load of flack that day, spat at apparently. Sir Jack who completely rebuilt the club.

Steve Morgan took us from having a threadbare squad in the championship into the Premier League with Mick, had a vision for the stadium and actually broke soil. Took pelters.

Mick McCarthy worked wonders getting us back into the top flight, a much loved character and took dogs abuse ‘sacked in the morning’ etc at home to Swansea.

People don’t give a flying **** about sentiment and history in football. It’s the here and now. If they don’t like what they see, they will VENT!

Winning a cup is actually a lot to ask for in the era of state owned and billionaire clubs where the drawbridge had been pulled up by FFP

And for some of us it's nothing to do with being grateful for what we've got and unyielding loyalty to Fosun, it's with not wanting to be associated with this self entitled, ungrateful undercurrent with baseless ad hominen attacks on people running the club, that has completely ruined a once decent forum
