Why do people keep saying raw? Raw would imply error prone and/or poor decision making. I havent seen any of that.
Totally agree, also implies being youthful and inexperienced, nothing wrong with that and won’t get experience unless played, although accept the point it may be better starting him against Norwich than City , but can’t wait to see more of him

I hope it’s not at wb all game as seems to be the suggestion. I think that would crush his attacking intent. Why not go 4 at the back in a game you expect to get zero points from anyway.

Great with the ball but his crossing tonight has been ****. I'm getting flashbacks!

Regarding his crossing tonight, I can appreciate he didn’t put it on a plate for anyone but he gets his head up and looks to create opportunities by playing the cross quickly.

We’ve been missing that with players looking to either beat there man twice or cut back onto a favoured foot.

I’d rather a player overshooting some crosses over a player not playing one quick enough.

He was our best player tonight.

It's a yes from me, definitely a player, direct, energetic, confident, physical and skilful. Not much not to like - could be one of our finest signings for a while.

Fair play to the lad, another positive performance. Great stuff.

Chiquinho embarrassed some of his so called senior team mates last night who were in hiding during the game. Well done Chiquinho. Good game.

I want to know how long has he been performing well in training? Did something suddenly click in training just before the Chelsea game or has he been performing well in training for a while and just not had a look in?

On the evidence so far Chiquinho looks a great talent. Hope he gets the chance to shine more often. I reckon he has already earned his place against Norwich. Played very well last night.

Thought he was excellent last night. Showed real determination and doggedness on the press; made intelligent runs in behind; can pass the ball reasonably well and understands the movement of the team.

I do think he's a bit wasted at RWB. It felt a bit like playing Traore there.

When Traore comes back for pre-season, Chiquinho can teach him about decision making, how to pass, when to pass, when to take a player on, when to keep going and not slow play, how to cross etc.

He wanted it last night. I question some of his other team mates as to whether they did as it looked like a little stroll for some of them.

Our best player on the field last night, and he was being played woefully out of position, against by far the strongest team in the league. Says it all.

He’s a big prospect that’s for sure.

The amount of times he won the ball was what did it for me, made more interceptions than some others around him.
A great player

His fearlessness and enthusiasm should be infectious next season with a few new faces.

I think we’ve potentially got a quality player here.

If by some miracle Traore stays next season, we could have a frightening set of wingers to play on the break with.

He played well but he was out of position. Wing back is a specialist position and on that flank it has to be said, we miss Doherty.

I’m just randomly thinking out loud but if we play Neto, Chiquinho and MGW behind a striker, that is 3 players who seem to love playing football and seem to want the ball at all times. Loads of energy and enthusiasm there.

Some experience and legs behind them and it looks exciting.

You can be fairly sure that dozens of highly experience professionals have already tried to teach all that to Traore. So far, he has resisted it all!

The biggest impact of his career so far is giving Dembele the kick he needed to get back to form.

I look forward to the day where we have more mobility in CM/CB and our forward players don’t have to do everything.

While that's part of the problem, it's not going to have that huge a difference. Not with our current forwards, anyway. What was it in those first 3 games? 65 shots and no goals? Of course it's true "Haaland would struggle to score in our team". But keep everything else the same, if we had him, he would be our top scorer.

Our forwards don't have to do everything. Hold off a defender and get a powerful shot in. That's what they need to do. They are given opportunities for that, yet just don't do it enough, because they can't do it. Being able to make and/or find space and/or winning a battle with a defender when there is no space. Our forwards are inconsisent and below par at all of this. . Swap Jota for Fabio, leave everything else the same, and Liverpools goals total drops and ours increases.

What midfielder is going to thrive when told "oh, don't put the ball in the air, we have no aerial presence"? And "don't play the ball in behind, our forwards can't keep up and haven't got the anticipation and will probably be way out wide anyway". "Just take long shots yourself, that's your best bet". :)
