The point is that people who go to matches go, they don’t think oh I won’t go to this one it’s on TV. Those of us who have other commitments on this day no longer have the choice to go.
Ok so if they move it to Saturday 8pm then I may not be able to go as I have commitments on a Saturday night so I either cancel them or go to the game.

What's the difference with Xmas eve ?

In fact football is more common on Xmas eve then it is on a Saturday night at 8pm

Let's face it, it's not moving, the PL floated the idea, they knew some people would kick off, but it didn't go crazy, they leaked which game it was so most people didn't care. That's how it all works now, fans are pretty much an irrelevance, it'll be full either way.

Sorry what? I would argue that people have more concrete commitments on Christmas Eve that may have been in place for months or even years rather than a Saturday night but if you don't understand or agree that's fair enough. Hope you enjoy the game.

And the point is that folks are moaning because they have got to spend time with their family instead of going to watch a game of football. It’s all about perspective.
No I don't think that's what folks are moaning about at all, its about rearranging a football match a late notice to a day in the calendar when a lot of people have other commitments, not to mention obvious travel difficulties on this day not only for away fans but for Wolves fans who travel a distance. Think you've completely missed the point tbh.

I would add 'Once again putting TV companies ahead of fans' to your admirable comments.

I have no problem with Christmas eve fixture. Actually rather looking forward to it.

However I can understand it could be a significant problem for some.

I think it would be a nice gesture if the club offered 100% buy back option to season ticket holders (regardless of if the ticket gets sold on, which it likely would).

Also bear in mind the location of Molineux in the City centre, the fact that the match will be on Christmas Eve (lots of people out shopping), on a Sunday afternoon (most people off work plus even more people out shopping), then throw in the decision to stage a PL match with reduced public transport operating and the decision looks even more ludicrous. Has anyone else tried to drive to Asda between 4pm and 5pm on a normal Friday evening (only time we can fit shopping in)? I can only imagine the carnage this will create on Christmas Eve.

I completely get the frustration for those attending the game but this will create utter chaos for everyone. It's one of the most stupid, thoughtless and illogical organisational decisions I've ever seen and I'm not going to the game or planning to go out on Chritmas Eve.

Agreed that asda island is going to be a nightmare. Thousands of fans leaving just as hundreds try and get in for the last minute food shop.

I mean, I'm not the most organised for Christmas generally, and sometimes I get stuff and then panic that maybe I need one more pack of sausages, but even I might be good to go by 3pm (1 hour before they close) on Christmas Eve.

This is a very sensible solution but there’s not a chance Vinny Turpin will go for it.

So re-sale moved to 21st November and 90% back if its a sell-out which I can't see . Shame the club just didn't give a full refund but there you go.

I don't know why they just don't go 100%. I know some people will say they have costs, but don't forget they refund 80% of 1/19th of the ST cost and then sell at a much higher price anyway, so they've still got a good mark up. On the plus side hopefully it sells OK to people who may be working on the Saturday and can make Christmas Eve. So then resale actually happens. They need to not wait for the corner to sell though.

Fair play, I'll take my 90%

I thought for normal games the resale didn't kick in until it had sold out?

Won’t get the money back as it won’t sell out at the ridiculous match day prices .

The system is a joke
