I went to go a watch United against boro as a guest of a friend, and I watch maguire closely. When comparing the performances it was startling how much further ahead Max is in current performance levels, of both maguire and varane. Both took easy simple distribution choices with little variety, neither (I think varane once) brought the ball out, and defensively (granted a different shape) were not as positionally good. That tells you the level the lad is at.

A back line of Trent, Stones, Coady, Kilman and Chilwell would do very, very well in Qatar at the end of the year.

Personally I would pick James ahead of Trent, but that right back/right wing back birth almost has 11 players alone competing for it.

Just imagine if Kilman was at Manure the MSM would have got him into the England side months ago. As it always has been when you play for an unfashionable side you have to be so much better. Wagstaffe Richards and Hibbitt all had the same problem with the London sports writers picking the England team. As much as it would be nice for Kilman to get in the England side doing it for us is what really counts.

I've been saying how good he he came here. Nuno was reluctant to play him, but I could never understand why. He will be linked with top teams from this season onwards. On form, you could expect Coady, Kilman, Stones and Ben White to be called up. Maguire should not be anywhere near, nor Mings.

No longer a prospect. Core part of 2nd best defence in the league.

What I love is how he just gets on with it, no dramas, does his job superbly. Good in the tackle, getting better in the air, and one of the most steady and composed English centrebacks in the league with the ball at his feet.

He's also one of the main reasons Semedo has had such a much better season, he's got a beast behind him and his confidence in going forward knowing Max is behind him really has grown.

Son had a bad game. Kane screams of a player who doesn't want to be there, the only problem is, its showing his true colours, who wants him now?

He lost too many headers last season, often getting sucked under the ball (Man U away springs to mind). But he's completely cut that out this season and looks as complete as I can remember any Wolves player doing.

Don't think we can underestimate the importance of Coady on our other defenders.
