A Hanson / Bamford kind of striker, and a creative central midfielder who can pass through the middle would be nice, for a start.

My Christmas wishlist is Patrick Bamford, Chris Wood and Gael Bigirimana on loan. Come on Santa/Kenny/Jez, make it happen...

Jez has the girth of Santa, but I think the similarities end there. Your knowledge on these players is always reliable, but Bamford seems likely to stay put or go to the Championship (Middlesbrough?) and I'm not sure why Leicester would be loaning out Chris Wood. I'll pin my hopes on Bigirimana.

Just out of interest is anyone reading this thread?

Of course, it is a classic, a seasonal favourite, read religiously, wildly far from the truth and this year will contain every central midfielder and winger of non-Premiership quality in the land.

I love it!

Thanks San Fran

Is Constable still playing for Oxford?
Been forever since I last heard of him.

Just in your typical transfer gossip pages mate. Probably a load of nonsense but all speculation is until we sign someone. Could have some truth in it though he is a big target man and kenny is after one.

Never understood why Walsall got rid. His all round game was average but he's a clinical finisher. He's not that many goals short of being Oxford's record scorer, so can't see him wanting to leave yet.

Money or a record to a footballer in this day and age. Money every time lol. Still can't see the rumor being true though

I'm not sure. Swindon offered him a lot of money a couple of years ago and he turned them down. Not sure if it would be as much as we would offer though.

Todays performance makes the point even more that we we need at least two strikers and as everyone keeps saying a dominant midfielder in the mould of Alex Ray.

If Phillips is coming we need another Iwelumo type to go with him, our current strike force is non existent.

After yesterdays game I think anyone who questions or doubts the need for quality additions is either raving mad or knows nothing about football.

Since Doherty's injury the defence hasn't looked anywhere near as good. The sooner he returns the better I believe in at least steadying the ship from the back.

Once defence is more back to normal the already powder puff midfield can at least try and assist the forward line a bit more because yet and once again the midfield yesterday was mostly non existent and uncreative. The club has more cover for midfield that any other area of the team yet is the worst IMHO, utter rubbish I'd go as far as saying. I really thought this area was getting sorted but being harsh but honest it's crap.

As for the forward line, well it doesn't help them they get so little decent service but another front man offering more options is a must.

In a nutshell the next window the manager needs new signings besides Henry and Jacobs. A minimum of at least 2 new signings, a forward and central midfielder and preferably another signing as well.

After a promising start to the season I always expected a blip but looking back at that good early start I do so feeling Wolves had a great deal of luck. On more than one occasion Wolves took 3 points from a few games they didn't deserve to and far from pushing on have gone backwards.

Wolves at L1 level should have the clout to bring in what's so obviously needed. Failure to do so will tell us all a great deal.

Pope and Phillips as striking reinforcements.
Get rid of Sigurdarson and Cassidy.
Gary Jones as our midfield leader.
Nadjim Abdou (on loan with a view to a permanent stay) from Millwall.
Remie Streete as cover for our defence.
Sell Hennessey and we'll have McCarey as back-up.

Tend to agree re moving out Siggy and Cassidy although I still believe Siggy is a good player who is just well out of sorts.

Other than needing a bit more up front and sorting midfield don't think too much more is needed.

I wouldn't touch Jones. He is way past it. Pope I would also give a miss. No pace and not good enough in my opinion.

Would you play Jones over Edwards though?
Perhaps Kennedy instead. We do need a leader in midfield.

I also agree that Sigurdarson is promising, but if he wants to leave then so be it.

I'd certainly go for Phillips - he's had quite a habit of scoring at Molineux!

The fear I have about a number of the players people (as distinct from the club) wish to purchase is that they may well perform decently at this level but can they perform at a higher level - which is where we want to be. If not, we have more than likely had to offer them attractive contracts to sign them and this would need to tie them to the club for 3 or 4 years. The players that we can attract who will assist the club long term are limited and are more likely to become available in the summer period. We may well sign one or two in this window but I anticipate no where as many as some on here seeking players are looking for.

I love a spelling correction post that has spelling error in them ;)

#spelt

As you may know, I live in the US, and although 'spelt' is an acceptable form of the word, we usually use 'spelled' as the correct one.
