Outplayed, but did ourselves proud considering the injuries. Season fizzling out which is disappointing. Thought today was very similar to the Villa game, matched them, maybe less so tonight, but our options going forward meant they had little threat when they pushed forwards.
Cunha would've...
Don't know if he's back at full fitness but we've missed his running, interceptions and general carnage he causes to opposing defences. Got a bit of height and the way he loves playing helps a lot.
What's the news with Ait Nouri?
Don't think he had the worst game, just inexperienced to play the organiser in a defence that was up against it in the second half. Would be a good signing for a team who have a lot of the ball.
Does this more or less mean that 8th = conference league?
"He's Gary, Gary, taking us to Europe, that's the way we like it......"
*Still think we'll finish below Chelsea and 1 of Brighton, Newcastle or West Ham.
Will need to manage the minutes of our CMs, Boubacare and Doyle will have to chase round after the hour. Don't expect anything from this, but fingers crossed.
Hwang not playing great but him and Cunha are a big loss for our breaks, need Neto to do all the running. Bellegarde will be criticised out of position but he needs to hold the ball and soak up pressure.
Isak, Botman fit for this? Like others say Neto or RAN running at Burn could cause problems...
Think people got in the pubs early cos it was a rare BCD. You need fans to have had a few beers for the atmosphere to buzz. Hopefully the pubs do a great trade and open early for this one. Looking forward to it!
Having no number 9 is harder for defenders as no out ball to relieve pressure. We'll have to play it through the middle when we do have it, but soak up a hell of a lot of pressure & try to nick one with our pace. In Gazball we trust.
Happy with yes, but still a third of the season to go so we might as well strive to finish in top 6 see what happens. We can beat anyone on our day but also lose to anyone. Could've done with Cunha back for more games and no bans for Lemina or Semedo upcoming.
West Ham back in the race for top 7/8 after a bad run.
Not sure who I think has the best chance, probably Newcastle if they didn't have so many injuries, so Brighton maybe, but then they've got European games same as West Ham. Chelsea could put together a good run but haven't yet. Which leaves us!
Still got to play Newcastle which is a 6 pointer, and Chelsea, West ham, Brighton and Newcastle have all got games against each other so will take points off each other. Agreed that it's a long shot but amazing that we've got something to play for In the last 3rd that isn't survival!
