Plenty of sides adding players and some good ones. May not work every time but beats being sat here with a club that hasnt signed one and doesnt look any closer to anything except more outgoings.

And if as you said the board were effectively being swayed by the fans and didn’t sign a player the manager wanted to keep then that is purely down to the board. Although from where I’m looking the board don’t seem to bothered what the fans think.
