Going to be a strike on Fulham match day.
What a strange thing to say.I’m sure there will be plenty of solidarity for the poor downtrodden rail workers on the Mix. Perhaps they will join them on the picket line down at Wolverhampton train station.

Oh *******s, that'll **** me up.Going to be a strike on Fulham match day.

Personally I have solidarity with them but I’ll be too busy driving to and from the game, meeting mates in the pub and watching the game. I gave up on trains a year or so ago due to the huge price hikes which, it appears, seem to go to shareholders as dividends rather than the workers.
You shouldn’t jump to conclusions. I lived and worked in London for many years until quite recently, relying on trains and tubes, and so I’ve encountered much of what you mention.I don’t as I’m sure you’ve guessed. Try living in a place where you rely on trains to get to work, and then suffer years of strikes, and perhaps you’d think about whether you still have solidarity. Now my son has that pleasure, and he’s equally ****ed off. But this is the football thread, not the socialist workers news thread, so I’ll leave it at that.
Got them here too…..presumed they were more or less everywhere.Going OT.....this how i can get around in Canberra, which is a pretty spread out place about 50km long. Just a springloaded bar, takes 10 seconds to get your bike on or off

This area is served by Southern. We had a decade of strikes and reduced services while the union resisted changes to the guards role. Zero solidarity shown by the rail workers for the millions of other workers, many on much lower salaries than they, who suffered that for years. After that, there is very little support for train workers from commuters around here.
Anyway, my gripes are not as relevant as the impact on fans getting to our upcoming fixtures. This dispute isn’t going to end anytime soon, and there is little doubt further strikes will be called affecting both our home and away fixtures. Let’s see how long it takes for others to get cheesed off.
Edit - just seen bod's message. I'll stick to moaning about Southern elsewhere! This area is served by Southern. Yeah, last season was pretty bad, and I was considering not renewing just because of that.Quite worried about trains from london for matches as it is :-/

Not if its matchday travel difficulties and solutions, as opposed to the rights and wrongs of the strike itself. See what bod has already said.shouldn’t this be on the political forum?
I'd give you a lift if you weren't so far out of the way. Unless you have access to a boat and can make your way across the water to Lytham?Me too.
Not sure that would pass the EU crash safety test for pedestrians!Going OT.....this how i can get around in Canberra, which is a pretty spread out place about 50km long. Just a springloaded bar, takes 10 seconds to get your bike on or off
