This is the problem. I've been looking at the table and remaining fixtures today just in hope that I'll see a way Villa will get relegated. But even if they only win one of their remaining games, or draw two, I can't see the teams below them conjuring up enough of a run to overtake them. They're effectively 6 points clear with their goal difference. I know anything can happen, and I'll be praying for them to go down but the more I look at it, the more unlikely it seems. To be honest I'll probably be rooting for Wigan tonight.

So wil it make us all feel better if Aston Villa get relegated? Which they won't.
Desperate, desperate thread.

The amount of times I have swiftly responded with those exact words to the same comment is astonishing! Also followed by: Sarcasm is by far the highest form of wit, when used correctly!

Yes it will. Exactly. Why is it desperate? We've known for a number of weeks now that we're likely to go down, it's not as if it's on the final day where, if Villa joined us, we wouldn't really comment on it. We can now look at the other team in contention for relegation and it's only natural to imagine the teams you'd like to go down. I'd be $$$$ing ecstatic if Villa go down!

Villa wont go down. They've a few too many points and need QPR to get at least two wins really to finish below them. Can't see that happening.

Do you think we will or can win 3 out of our last 4 games?

Which they won't.

Why won't they? There always seems to be one club who you wouldn't expect to be drawn in that does do

Desperate, desperate thread.

Why is it desperate? It's a distinct possibility with the poor run that they're on

People do realise that you get three points for a win don't they? So six points is two wins (with Veela not gaining any) so it only needs two (maybe three) other teams to achieve this for Veela to really start getting twitchy

As far as I am concerned, the more Midlands teams in the PL, the better, so I don't want Villa to be relegated.

its to hard to predict results right now but lets give it a go

villa 35
wigan 34
qpr 31
bolton 29
blackburn 28

Bolton Remaining Fixtures

Swansea (h) 1-3pts
Villa (a) leave that for now
Sunderland (a) slipping up and tend take foot of gas end of season
Spurs (h) hard game, but potential
Wba (h) winnable
Stoke (a) slipped up last game to wigan last year and no great team

7-8pts + Villa

QPR Fixtures

Spurs (h) hard game, but potential
Chelsea (a) Probably Loss, but inbetween CL and FA Cup
Stoke (h) winnable
City (a) loss

4pts max

Blackburn Fixtures

Norwich (h) winnable
Spurs (a) loss
Wigan (h) winnable
Chelsea (a) loss

6pts max

Wigan Fixtures

Fulham (a) loss, due one
Newcastle (h) draw
Blackburn (a) loss
Wolves (h) win

4-5pts (blackburn) but i've given them 4pts

table without villa playing again

Wigan 38pts
Bolton 36/37pts
Villa 35pts
-----------------
QPR 35Pts
Blackburn 34pts
Wolves whatever pts

so villa probably only realistically need a draw to survive given their GD 2x or win to make sure

their remaining fixtures are

Sunderland (h) realistically Draw
Bolton (h) could be MASSIVE if slip up to sunderland
WBA (A) draw best, albion be up for this one
Spurs (h) could be any result
Norwich (a) could be any result

so villa have nice bunch of fixtures but no gimmee's you wouldnt be surprised to see them clear the 40pts mark personally though

More chance of us stopping up than Villa going down.

Essentially, signing Robbie Keane in Jan has kept them up. Of course, he wasnt good enough for us though.

Your right of course. Strange really considering he's Irish. Perhaps Mick thought it was Roy Keane and didn't think to check his first name. The sort of thing Mick would do.

Yes, nothing to do with Morgan or Moxey refusing to pay the wages of somebody like Robbie Keane.

Idiot.

If Bolton beat Villa in the re arranged match

Villa 35
Bolton 32
QPR 31

Bolton and QPR win their next games and Villa lose

Villa 35
Bolton 35
QPR 34

Bolton will then have 3 games remaining, QPR and Villa 2 each.

Even if Bolton lose their game in hand, It's still all to play for then with a couple of games to go.

For me, it's anyone from Villa, Bolton and QPR to join ourselves and Blackburn for that last relegation spot. Mcleish' Birmingham looked the safest side this time last season and we all know hat happened next. Villa are playing kids ATM and when it comes to the pressure of a fight to the death, my money wouldn't be on them to get out of it.

Whats your view of? Is the Hawthorns within the range of a trained sniper, im happy to chip in for one for the last game of the season.

They get to fly the silly banner over the ground, whilst we in return take a load of them out like kids in a California high school.
