Alex Ferguson could do worse than learn from OGS
In a recent match where one of the Molde FK players tried to con the ref into giving a penalty kick, Ole Gunnar was furious and demanded that the player apologised to both teammates and the opposing team for diving.
The player got an yellow card for the offence. Ashley Young has now cheated 2 home games in a row... a new low for the holy grail we call the Premiership. We can blame the FA all we like but Managers and Clubs can stop this themselves, if they want. I'm glad Wolves apply fair play rules ![]() Last edited by ManSolo; 15-04-2012 at 21:21.. |

Ha! Imagine if he came over to the PL with that honest attitude! He'd be hounded back to Norway in no time thanks to his outlandish views.

I heard Ashly Young is joining Tom Daley at the olympics, could get both gold and silver.

To be fair to SAF the Ashley Young 'death by tackle' dive was much in evidence when he played at Villa. I well remember his constant wingeing and inability to stay upright if a Wolves player strayed with 10 yards of him, at games against Villa.
Now that reminds me, where is that thread about things I won't miss from the premier league?

Indeed, though Fergie could easily cut it out of Young's game with a warning that "anymore cheating and you'll be on yer bike." I would hope that would be the manager's attitude rather than "try to be more subtle next time."

Screw the little gob$$$$e but hopefully the media jump on him the same way they have foreign players that dive but I seriously doubt it.
But I agree if Fergie was to have a word then maybe he'll stop. I just don't understand why a good talented player has to do that. It's disgraceful. |

I agree with you Golden but I believe it was the influx of foreign players that mostly introduced diving to the greed league. |

Not sure I buy that. Seems to have been around a long time. Francis Lee anyone? And I also seem to remember a row about Hibbitt taking a dive in an F.A.Cup semi Final against Spurs. 1981-ish?

Fair comment but it has been much worse the last few years. Drogba, Suarez and the like. |

The one that always sticks in my mind is this one :
http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=Sol...9,r:8,s:0,i:84 It ended Arsenal's unbeated run (how unfair such a great acheivement is ruined by cheating) but none of us can get upset, or angry, or even dissaprove because that's an england player that is!! Campbell's reaction said it all- wish we could have heard what he was saying... http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=Sol...r:21,s:0,i:111 |
