So thats Jermaine Defoe and Darren Bent up front then.
Not quite as daunting for the rest of the world...

Maybe Ndah has retired a couple of months too early

I'd still take Andy Johnson instead of either of those. It's a pity his only cap was on the bloody right wing and he never had another chance.
Makes you grateful for Bobby Robson giving Bull a real opportunity all those years ago.

Agree somewhat but my choice would be Dean Ashton.

We're $$$$ed, two World Class strikers and $$$$ all else. I doubt anyone has ever won the World Cup with a 9ft $$$$ called Crouch in their team.

I thought that Graham Taylor was England manager when Bull got into the side and he only picked Bull because Lineacre needed a punch in the face.

Nah, it was Taylor who got rid of him...probably thought he wasn't direct enough :D

I think Ashton might get a chance in the Autumn..he hasn't got the pace of Owen but he strikes a ball well.
Defoe's spent all season drifting in from the wing, running across the box instead of running straight at defenders. Probably a better player but less effective.
Johnson's a lot simpler, he does the same job as Owen in that he hangs around and tries to get on the end of everything. Scares defenders into fouling him....and he's the best Englishmen at getting penalties.
If Rooney AND Owen don't make it, i'd consider him the best outside bet for a squad place....Championship player or not. He'll be trying extra hard in the play-offs for Palace now anyway...

that's good news if it's just an ache and the scans show nothing, anybody who's bust a bone knows it can take months or a year to feel right again.
Another 6 weeks should see him ok...........unless it's an FA pre-prepared medical report.
