I've never understood why when we played Spurs in the F A Cup semi final and after drawing the first leg at Hillsborough 2-2(Willie Carr Pen to equalise)why the hell did we agree to play the replay at Highbury?
Was there a reason for it?I've always wondered and nobody seems to know.

I don't know, but I do know that Hoddle played us off the park at Hillsborough.

That was nothing compared to what he did to us this season against Luton, Crewe, Coventry, Millwall and Preston.

As i remember, the FA picked Highbury and John Barnwell said "dont care where the replay is we'll beat them" !

On the night think we lost 3-0 and i stood on the clock end, to see Wolves go out of the 100th FA cup comp.

Think Andy Gay got injured the day of the game and didn't play.I reckon our strike force today would have frightened them more than the ones that night.
To be fair if it wasn't for Kenny Hibbits dive we wouldn't have had a replay.

I suppose the only alternative apart from Hillsborough again would have been Villa Park. In which case the Spurs fans would have been complaining against bias to us and we couldn't have that could we, and after all the London based media would have preferred to have Spurs in the Final and not us. Who did they play anyway was it Man.City ?

Thinking about it, I have a feeling we tossed a coin for the choice of semi final and we lost. The choices were Villa Park or Highbury.

If I could find the smileys I'd put a few laughing ones on for that one. Cheers!

I'm surprised only those games have been listed.

That was no dive ;)

It was Clive Thomas evening things up after that non-foul he gave against George Berry from which Hoddle scored direct from the free-kick.
