81% of posters on this board supported the appointment of Big Phil.
Now that he is no longer in the race, the overwhelming favourite is the current Middlesboro boss. Are you happy for him to take over the reigns of the national team?

Personally I don't think that any of the current crop of English managers are good enough. Can't knock McClaren for what he's done with Middlesbrough - Hell, he's so confident in his managerial skills that he gives European teams a few goals headstart. :D However, we've got arguably some of the most talented England players in years and we need someone who can utilise them correctly. Surely with the money that the FA have available, they could bring in someone with a decent track record at international and club level.

clearly the best manager around and seems to handle the media well. the media make it the tough job it is, always sticking cameras in their faces when its not needed invading privacy, it should be outlawed. if a manager was allowed ot get on with the job unhindered by media intrusion we'd win every world cup.....well maybe not
