View Full Version : George Ndah retires Goldwolf 28-04-2006, 13:34 From club text Wivey Wolf 28-04-2006, 13:35 Should have been humanely put down... SOA Wolf 28-04-2006, 13:37 Is this news three years old? Goldwolf 28-04-2006, 13:37 I think it was sadly inevitable. What we would have done for some of his wonder goals though this season, just to add some sparkle. Deutsch Wolf 28-04-2006, 13:39 Good luck to the bloke, I'm sure the past seven years haven't been fun for him. Thanks for the wonder goals against Bradford, Leicester and Preston, and of course the opener in the 3-1 victory over the Albion. Wolvesthrunthru 28-04-2006, 13:39 Should have been humanely put down... :D:D :D brummywolf 28-04-2006, 13:41 It's a great shame but nonetheless inevitable. George has been a real credit to this club over the last few years, just a shame that luck hasn't been on his side. Plenty of good memories from Georgeyboy, just glad he managed to get back for a while this season and bag a goal. Still grateful to him for his brilliant spell in our promotion spell. One of my favourite players of recent years, really wanted it to work out for him this season. SOA Wolf 28-04-2006, 13:42 Good luck to the bloke, I'm sure the past seven years haven't been fun for him. Thanks for the wonder goals against Bradford, Leicester and Preston, and of course the opener in the 3-1 victory over the Albion. Agreed, Matt Carbon has a lot to answer for...all his problems seem to have stemmed from that challenge. brummywolf 28-04-2006, 13:45 Hopefully he might be able to play a 5 minutes or so in Bully's testimonial, would be nice to give him a send off FoetalYouth 28-04-2006, 13:46 A great shame, George could have been a great player for this club if it wasn't for that $$$$ Carbon. Thanks for the memories George. paddingtonwolf 28-04-2006, 13:46 poor old George. Off to the glue factory then. Seemed a geniune bloke who really wanted to do well, but that Albion $$$$er put paid to that. Daytripper 28-04-2006, 13:48 I always felt we were a better team with Ndah in and it'll always be if Ndah was fit or maybe if Ndah had played it was a shame he was so injury prone. one of the player who truly gave a 100% and a nice bloke to boot Powelly 28-04-2006, 13:56 thanks for the memories george! stand out moment for me was his brace against tesco town and that unbelievable goal at preston we wouldn't have got in the play off's in promotion season if not for his performances in the 2nd half of that year hope he finds a career within the game coaching kids or somethin as has been said before matt carbon has a lot to answer for- still the worst challenge i have ever seen:mad: Hibbitt was King 28-04-2006, 14:03 Best wishes for the future, George, and thanks. mak1 28-04-2006, 14:07 Feel for the bloke, I really do. Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do in the future. Always played with a smile on his face and gave his all when he played which sadly wasn't enough. Bahama Wolf 28-04-2006, 14:08 Very sad, had the potential to be a truly good Wolves player, that injury sustained by Carbon sadly put paid to that, remember his early days and his partnership at Palace with Mark Bright, he had searing pace. Yep, that goal against Preston will not be forgotten! All the best George. Deutsch Wolf 28-04-2006, 14:22 remember his early days and his partnership at Palace with Mark Bright, he had searing pace. Mark Bright had left Palace long before Ndah broke through to their first team. basher 28-04-2006, 14:24 Surely in spite of the fact that he has retired he is worth a new contract?? He has drive, passion, committment, etc etc etc........ peckinpah wolf 28-04-2006, 14:32 My son George's favourite player. I wonder why? Maybe the name. Leaves me in the awful position of having to tell him when he returns home from school. Thanks for the promotion season George. Wardrobe_Wolf 28-04-2006, 14:39 Gutted. Was obviously coming but I'm still gutted. Shifnal Wolf 28-04-2006, 14:43 thanks for the memories george. hope to see you in football sometime soon. great pace, skill and always played the game in the right way. a credit to football and wolverhampton wanderers Markwolf 28-04-2006, 14:45 All the best to him - Great bloke, excellent player. Would loved to have seen him have a good injury free run. Phys Ed Wolf 28-04-2006, 14:45 Good luck and God bless, George. All the best for the future. It's a shame to see such genuine players fall by the way side, when there are still money grabbing t****ers in the game who don't seem to realise what a great life they lead. wolfan 28-04-2006, 14:50 Just looking on WOW, and did he really play 92 games? I didn't think that it had been anywhere near that number. Bradders 28-04-2006, 14:52 Not surprised. Best of luck to him. goldenboy 28-04-2006, 15:00 thanks for the memories george, possibly the unluckiest man in football Big Mack 28-04-2006, 15:11 Sad news, always looked a threat when he was fit. Unfortunately that was all too rarely. Wish him the best in whatever he does. Rocky_Balllboa 28-04-2006, 15:20 Sad news Lupo Italiano 28-04-2006, 15:25 Just looking on WOW, and did he really play 92 games? I didn't think that it had been anywhere near that number. Was just about to post the same thing. Hard to believe isn't it? yammer 28-04-2006, 15:33 Was just about to post the same thing. Hard to believe isn't it? Over how many seasons though? Lupo Italiano 28-04-2006, 15:39 Over how many seasons though? About 8 I think. Not saying he has made a lot of appearances, just that he has made more than I thought he had. yammer 28-04-2006, 15:42 Averages just over 10 games a season though. Not many at all when you put it into perspective. Winelord 28-04-2006, 15:42 Top bloke, but as mentioned, it's been on the cards for a long time now. Also agreed that he was never the same after Carbon's tackle. Cheers, George. Brizzlewolf 28-04-2006, 15:45 Sad, inevitable but expect he's not short of a bob or two so let's not go all "American" on this ;) Good luck George. Lupo Italiano 28-04-2006, 15:55 Averages just over 10 games a season though. Not many at all when you put it into perspective. Its not but don't forget there have been 1 or 2 seasons when he hasn't figured as all. While 92 over that amount of seasons is very little I was just surprised to see he had made as many as that, thats all. OldWolvesfart 28-04-2006, 15:58 Always gave his all and on his reappearance this season showed us how committed he was diving into tackles as if he had never been injured in his life before. So glad he got a goal against Derby this season to remind him of how it felt. Thanks George. Deutsch Wolf 28-04-2006, 15:59 It's over just under seven seasons (he joined us in October 1999). It includes 40 sub appearances as well, so in the end he averages around 7-8 starts a season. MK Panther 28-04-2006, 16:04 Good Luck to him but he was finished in top flight football two seasons ago. We need to clear the decks of those prone to illness etc and concentrate on building the club with players who can turn out week after week. Dangerous to rely on Ince, Anderton and the likes to get us promotion here on in. wallace 28-04-2006, 16:10 thanks george..the most exciting player at the club when in full flight but due to that tackle from that tw8t from sandwell we never was to see him fulfill his true potential. good luck george your due some. stuj4z 28-04-2006, 16:23 it really is a sad day. yes we all saw it coming but for it to happen to such a great bloke is just awful. there is no justice in the world. good luck for the future george quirky_birky 28-04-2006, 17:48 Thanks for the memories George. Great player when fit - if only we'd seen more of him. Janson Wolf 28-04-2006, 18:36 Sad news. Was a great player who always played with a smile on his face. Apart from the goals two stand out memories for me. 1) His reaction after the Palace game when he came on and everyone cheered etc. 2) Driving down Waterloo Rd to join the team for the promotion tour, his smile was dazzling and he was beeping his horn to every Wolves fan! Top bloke, wish him all the best Uncle Festa 28-04-2006, 19:24 If only we had George and Akinbyi back in our attack instead of the toothless offering we now have. Things would be oh so different and the Molineux a happier place to be on match day. wolfie smith 28-04-2006, 19:56 so true uncle F, those two really put the effort in and frightened the opposition, just because a player like akinbiyi doesnt score with every shot doesnt mean he is a bad player, did we really need his transfer money? as for george thanks for the great goals, hope yu are rewarded with a clean bill of health from now on and can stay in football. I.D. 28-04-2006, 20:08 Did anyone else see the tackle that finished George's last spell of playing for us? It was almost as bad as the one by Carbon that started George's tremendous injury record and Muscat would have been proud of it. Sadly George is now like me, a man with a great future behind him. RyanWolf 28-04-2006, 20:09 George was the most exciting player to pull on a Wolves shirt since Keano. A great shame he couldn't get free of his hoodoo, because on his day he is Premiership class. Thanks for the memories and some awesome goals, George. QB Wolf 28-04-2006, 20:57 A great shame, however in a way for the club it's not that bad news for a forward with 12 years playing professional football he's goalscoring record wasn't great! Professional 28-04-2006, 20:59 A potentially wonderful player, whose career was ruined by an apalling tackle from a *** of a player. All the best in the future, George. Muscat 28-04-2006, 23:23 Sad news really. His goal against Derby is one of the few highlights from an otherwise miserable season. All the best for the future, George, and thanks. Florida Wolfey 29-04-2006, 02:29 It's football, it's life and we should all move on. I wish George all the best for the future and hope his insurance pay off comforts him somewhat. Most professionals will say they played for the love of the game to start with and it was clear that George played with a zest in his stride when fit. It's a sad way to end a career but it happens. Thanks for some good memories George....just a pity there weren't a few more. That said, you did something most of us here would die to do......play and score goals for WWFC. Good luck and best wishes......kick a few of the mercenaries up the $$$$ on the way out will you. ;) Black Suit 29-04-2006, 03:31 The memories are great ones, goals against the Albion - always a pleasure! But that goal at Preston, Jesus that was special. TheDarkside 29-04-2006, 09:47 Thanks George. Gio Pippinardi 29-04-2006, 11:30 ...at last. Good luck George. ma77smith 29-04-2006, 11:38 Nice bloke yes, value for money no wolfette 29-04-2006, 11:52 No great shock but absolutely gutted for him. Thought he was a bit of a liability when he first got injured, but then met him outside Molineux once and saw how much playing for Wolves meant to him. Wish some of the others had his commitment! Keep smiling, George!!! The Punisher 29-04-2006, 13:07 Good luck George. I will never forget your goal at Preston in our promotion year. If only some of our other so called stars had your commitment. We will now have to bring in a forward with pace during the summer as neither Cort, the final piece of the jigsaw or Clarke have the pace and the others are all leaving. goldenboy 29-04-2006, 13:57 Good luck George. I will never forget your goal at Preston in our promotion year. If only some of our other so called stars had your commitment. We will now have to bring in a forward with pace during the summer as neither Cort, the final piece of the jigsaw or Clarke have the pace and the others are all leaving. mcleod? Deak77 29-04-2006, 15:18 Best of luck George, great to watch when fully fit and I'll always remember the goals against Leicester, Preston, Newcastle, Sandwell and the Bloose. Top man! Essex Wolf 29-04-2006, 16:03 Whilst it's a great shame that GN has had to retire my own view is that he should have been shown the Molineux exit door long ago. He has cost money for virtualy nothing. RyanWolf 29-04-2006, 21:55 This is true. Maybe because he is such an infectiously nice chap that he got the extension? The Punisher 29-04-2006, 22:48 I'd like to see us bring in Mcleod, Goldenboy 1wolves 29-04-2006, 23:06 It's a real shame George has had to retire........he's a quality player when fit. I never forget that $$$$$$$ carbon breaking his leg!! I remember him scoring against the boggies in the 3-1 win. Great game it was, it didn't feel like a derby because we out played them on the day!! Why was there only 25,000 at this game? London Wolves 29-04-2006, 23:10 Very, very sad. I was his kit sponsor & have met him several times. I was hoping he would be fit this season & bang some goals in for us. 1wolves 29-04-2006, 23:12 Very, very sad. I was his kit sponsor & have met him several times. I was hoping he would be fit this season & bang some goals in for us. Well at least we saw him score this season!!! goldenboy 29-04-2006, 23:57 I'd like to see us bring in Mcleod, Goldenboy likewise, if we've got the money gaz kford 30-04-2006, 00:22 I remember him scoring against the boggies in the 3-1 win. Great game it was, it didn't feel like a derby because we out played them on the day!! Why was there only 25,000 at this game? when did we beat the sh**e 3-1 home or away thats never being the score in the last 15 years    but all the best George Deutsch Wolf 30-04-2006, 01:27 when did we beat the sh**e 3-1 home or away thats never being the score in the last 15 years March 2001 at Molineux. Keith Andrews was Man of the Match. goldenboy 30-04-2006, 12:20 March 2001 at Molineux. Keith Andrews was Man of the Match. and adam proudlock ran them ragged, where did it all go wrong? London Wolves 30-04-2006, 15:47 Ludo scored as well Ginger Chimp 30-04-2006, 21:39 and it was Mrs Chimp's first derby game. Is all that enough evidence for you Gaz? I could lend you the video if you want ... ? |
