Just had a bad customer experience from Planet Micro and want to buy my son an MP3 Player from a High St Shop. Anyone on here seen any good offers?

Something arounfd the 512mb mark will do.

Try Richer Sounds in Birmingham they tend to do end of line stock so you may pick up a bargain.<!--

I bought my girlfriend a Phillips 512mb the other day from Currys. It was £60, she seems happy with it.

I have the very same Philips one, £60 from Dixons on offer. Use when I go running etc. Can hold a decent amount of music and can play wma(media player) files as well, though I haven't figured this part out yet!

512mb is nowhere near enough for anyone I'm afraid. Go with an ipod.

iPod = mp3 Player for hairdressers and fashion victims.

Go with one of the Creative range

e.g Creative Zen Touch - same size as an iPod, same capacity, 3x the battery life, 40 quid cheaper.

Why on earth would you pay more for less?

I know you want to get one from a High St store but Micro Direct have got 1.5 gb Rio Nitrus for 69.27 including VAT and 5gb Rio Karma for 99.82 inc VAT. The only problem is they are refurbished, however they do come with a 12 month warranty.
