View Full Version : Wolves at Dundee
Just got a message from my SwedeWolves mates.
Theyve arrived in Dundee.
However the local scots tried to get rid of them by claiming that they had to go to Wolvo to buy tickets for the matches...
Things werent sorted until a few red eyed, bad breath and hungover Swedewolves got insistent.
So - as usual Truls & Finspång got their way - and tickets.smileys/smiley32.gif
They've promised to keep us posted on the Dundee proceedings. And I will relay anything interesting that might turn up.

Right I'm up but not feeling on this planet just yet , onwards and upwards see you in Dundee in about 6 hours.....
Good old Truls!
You going to Den Haig SCB?
Hi Barry
No, I wont. But rumours say McTruls is.
Report 1 from Dundee:
Finally SwedeWolves, TrulsMacWolf, McFinspång, JinxyMcWolf &
MacLudde, landed in Scotland – home of the haggis and redheaded
chicks! After a train ride with First Scot Rail – Scotlands answer to
BritRail –
the Wolves pack stayed over at a Bed & Breakfast called Arran
View. The owner of the establishment is an old scary lady named
Ellen. This woman has it as her passion in life to collect stuffed
animals: foxes, birds, even rats were to be found in this house.
Clearly as a wolf it wastnt easy to rest in this house...
When TrulsMacWolf said that the end destination was Dundee the old aldy reacted..
- It´s a horrible place!
- It´s surely not worse än the $$$$$, answered the globetrotter TrulsMacWolf.
After a night at this awful place the course was set for Dundee. But
first a couple of pints was consumed at the pub Bonapartes in
Glasgow. On the way to Dundee the Wolves pack passed places like Troon,
Orvine,
Kilwinning, Howwood and Johnstone (not Mo Johnstone, the striker!)
before arrivind at Dundee.
In Dundee the course was firmly set for the Stadium, and if it hadnt
been for the persistence of MacFinspångs we wouldnt have been able to
buy tickets for the matches. Wolvesfans ought to have done that back
in Wolvo, was the opinion of the ticket office in Dundee. Absolutely
not - McFinspång firmly stated and used up his charms to get the
tickets - which he then got!. £ 15 for a ticket to Tannadice Park
saturday. The match for third price and the final of the tournament is
played sunday at Dens Park - then the ticket prices are lowered to £8
????.
Essential info on Scotland: all restrooms/toilets have green rugs, road is pronounced ”run”, a kilt costs only £ 300, all
eateriers close between 2.30 pm and 5 pm and the Wolves team stays at Hilton.
TrulsMacWolf and McFinspång has checked out the kilts and McTruls
wanted an extra long version for natural reasons while McFinspång
preferred a super-short version!
Saturday 1 pm Wolves – Sheffield Wednesday (Tannadice Park)
Saturday 4 pm Dundee U – Dundee FC (Tannadice Park)
Sunday 1 pm Match for third price (Dens Park)
Sunday 4 pm,The Final (Dens Park)

$$$ hell, match report should be a good un!
Update.
Wolves recently played their first match in the mini tournament in
Dundee. Opposition was Sheffield W. And the Mc's were there and
reported via SMS:
"One hour before match and prematch drinking is at its peak"
"Talked to some old bloke without teeth - he claimed to have played with Francis Munro"
McTruls reported that fans were magnificent as usula before the match -
which is impressing consideringe its a preseason friendly.
A problem is that noone understands the scots until after 3-4 pints of McEwans.
"Miller missed pens. 10 min."
"Wolves superior but with a poor midfield. We shall score soon. Lescott is best. Ince is tired. Miller and Cort are razorsharp"
"Cort misses open goal. Half time 0-0".
Second half pretty dull - Nothing to note until "0-0 Penalty Kicks".
"Cooper missed. The rest in goal. We lost to at team who never crossed the center line".
Pens:: Cooper (miss), Cameron, Kennedy, Cort, Lescott (all in goal). Sheffield W netted their five pens.
Starting line up Wolves; Oakes, McNamara, Craddock, Lescott, Naylor, Seol, Ince, Olofinjana, Ricketts, Cort, Miller.
At half time: Kennedy in for Naylor. Cameron in for Olofinjana.
During 2. half:: Cooper in for Ince.

McTruls has just announced, that after the Sheff W match Joleon Lescott

The trophy commonly known as "The Kiss Of Death" has previously been awarded to:
Robbie Keane (98-99),
Ludovic Pollet (99-00),
Lee Naylor (00-01)
Joleon Lescott (01-02)
Matt Murray (02-03)
Alex Rae (03-04)

Thanks for the info SCG
Excellent smileys/smiley1.gif
I am just a tad jelous I could really go a few pints of heavy now.
McTruls just been on
the phone to tell SwedeWolf 061 that in fact Wolves were on their way
on the bus after the match, when Lescott got off in order to receive
the SWPOTY throphy.
Which again left everyone else on the bus wondering why it wastnt them,
who had to go off the bus in order to receive trophies...
Think about it Henrismileys/smiley2.gif
Brighton Wolf

Hi SCB. Great reports, more on sunday I hope. How many McSwedes might get over to Holland?
Dunno Brighton.
Btw great to see you at Nordreisa last year
The inefficient Wolves tasted Owl droppings
After a bit ã prematch drinking something near 450 Wolves fans arrived
at Tannadice Park for the event of the near future: Wolves vs.
Sheffield W
The free lunch is no scottish speciality - and Wolves learned that the hard way during saturday.
Yes - Sheffield Wednesday IS an english team, but "The Owls"
had learnt from their scottish hosts, and played a very tight 5-4-1.
And is probably not the last time this seaso, Wolves will encounter a
team with a similar formation. In fact this will probably end up being
an everyday experence for Wolves in the 05-06 season..
Fast snappy passing, a livid midfield with all sacrificing midfielders
is what it takes to unlock a superdefensive defence like Sheff.W.s -
however in a situation where both Ince and Seol seemed a bit sloeee, there
were not a lot of creativity to find in the Wolves team.
Among the positives are that Wolves dominated TOTALLY and Miller and Lescott (SWPOTY-05) were the players of the match.
Lescott ruled the field, dominated the opponents and when he did his
raid towards the match end evryone understood just what had made him
the SWPOTY this year....
Miller fixed a pen during the match, but missed goal. Then it was obvious...yes, its one of those days
After 90 minutes it was 0-0 on the score board and it was penalty time - after a match totallyh dominated by Wolves.
PENALTY DRAMA:
0-0 Cooper: over goal
0-1 Sheffield mål (goal)!
1-1 Cameron hard as a rock in goal
1-2 Sheffield once again…
2-2 Kennedy low, hard in goal
2-3 Sheffields nr 12 shoots but Oakes almost saves
3-3 Cort, middle of goal
3-4 Oakes once again has hands on the ball but a score
4-4 Lescott nonchalant with the left foot
4-5 Sheffields goalie takes the last and finishes off the match.
After the match Lescott recieved the buckle from TrulsMacWolf.
Evaluation (SwedeWolves type)
Oakes: defies a mark - didnt touch the ball
McNamara: nice and secure
Craddock: played safe and restricted
Lescott: MOTM – dominated!
Naylor: mostly defensive due to the opponents pressure on the right wing
Ince: sadly disinterested
Olofinjana: it was notisable when he got subbed during the halftime interval - he is an important part of the midfield
Ricketts: sloppy yet reliable (????)
Seol: See Ince
Miller: sharpv, hurt his right foot though and got subbed
Cort: missed two sitters... suck!
Kennedy: got in for Naylor and had a decent game
Clarke: Came on for Miller and ended up as a winger - not a good choice.
Cameron: subbed Olofinjana after the break and didnt add much
Cooper: subbed Ince - to no effect
On the SwedeWolves:
McFinspång ate a not yet dead "indonesian" chicken and has now stomach
ache. Serves him right, together with McLudde he ate a whole
brekkie buffet including several napkins and decorations.
The SwedeWolves night is to be spend on Days Inn - God help them!
For those of you who understands these things, TrulsMacWolf is assured
of - and will tell those few who will liisten, that the most famous
sandwich of Scotland is Donald´s and that the first hamburger was
cooked by a hungry sheperd in the scots highlands
Fan tro´t!
The Kilt-hunt is proceeding. However JinxyMcWolf is now refusing to try
one after hearing TrulsMacWolf saying "Its itching me crotch".
Rumour: MacLudde got handcuffed by the local Old Bill and will spend
the night in some suspect dungeon - whats he doing? And are they all
policemen??
And that redhead, who is she..??

RROIGHT - Here are the news
The following report was issued live from Dundee.
Match is over and Wolves won easily!
Wolves team was:
Jones - Edwards, Lescott, Gyepes, Kennedy (captain) - Olofinjana, Cooper - Cornes, Cameron, Ndah - Clarke.
Wolves were in marineblue shirts and white trunks!
Dundee in all white.
Firstg half (sms-ed):
Ndah fantastic start.
Wolves rules but creates nothing. Ouch, Jones got a real kicking there
(stretcher coming on - real groggy). Did he break somthing, people are
running towards where he has fallen??
Oakes in. 10 min delay.
Looks real bad with Jones. Stretchered off after collission with a striker. Pretty subdued among the fans for a while.
Suddenly Ndah hits the bar from 30 yards. Fans get going again.
Cooper is very commanding at the3 midfield, and Cornes is up to it.
However Clarke seems heavy and uncertain with the ball.
Ndah quick and hungry for footy.
Dundee backas home.
Audience gets bad tempered - loads of sidepasses.
Dundee tries to lock up.
Wolves has the ball but gets nowhere.
Ndah glancing header - over the bar.
Passing, passing - aroun a white wall.
Slow slow Audience displeased. Simple missesE against adefensive Dundee
Half time 0-0.
Match is 10 min delayed due to Jones's injury.
Cort in for Ndah.
Lowe in for Lescott.
Not much happens.
The hungarian looks good.
Oj. A Dundee player misses goal from 3 meters!
YES. Cort sat 1-0 on a repound from Clarke.
Cameron pressed the Dundee defenders and got them to do mistakes Clarke
fnicked the ball and hit the bar. Cort drove the return ball in from a
short distance
Ricketts in for Olofinjana.
Gobern in for Cornes.
Cort is now playing very offensive and Clarke has moved back as some sorrt of left winger. Gobern moves right.
Clarke hs a bad day and his only success was in connection with the goal - but really, he should have scored himself.
Cooper close, but a Dundee defender got in between and saved for a corner.
Wolves dominated heavily. 2-0 is in the air.
Gobern cross to Cortwho heads in 2-0. YES!
Rumour has it that Wigan raised their bid for Cort to above 2 mil. punds Sell him - NOT!
Cooper and Ricketts rules the midfield More goals are in the pipe.
Fans are singing: "Let´s all have a Dundee"-
Clarke robbed of goal for "shoving". Doubtful.
Goal again. Edwards lobbs in 3-0 from 25 meter.
"Now the lid is off the Ketchup bottle".
4-0. Cort. Header from a Cooper corner.
FINAL (SLUT). 4-0 and bronze in the minitournament.
SwedeWolves celebrating in Scotland after a 4-0-victory - together with the entire Wolves team
Sunday started as it should - a calling for Hugh!
JinxyMcWolf had two encounters with Hugh, TrulsMacWolf only once...
Regarding the match enough has already been written, so we'll just
reiterate a 4-0 win, but a broken cheekbone on Paul Jones during first
half against Dundee. Among the positives from that match is the Cort
hattrick, Ndahs
first half hour. Negatives apart form the cheekbone was the poor
performance of Clarke.
A most enjoyable meet with CanadaWolf happened earlier today. Those who were there will know why..
Among the comments from the stands were..
- "That´s the biggest run of applauds he will get all year", as Paul Jones was stretchered off….
Useless info: A Chicken Balti pie at half time cost £ 2.10.
McEwans and Tennants are the best beers in Dundee and the best pubs are Troll
Inn and Trader´s. Any trolls were nowhere in sight but McFinspångs likeliness with the elusive trolls got him free beers.
Humour elevated when the entire Wolves team dined at the same
restaurant - Yates's - as the travelling SwedeWolves. There seems to be
positive vibes within the team and Cameron & Cooper seems
right friends.
Strange thing, the Wolves site writer John Hendely didnt stay with the
team but at the Albertas where SwedeWolves resided. Why doestnt an
"official"
Wolves-journalist stay with the team??
