View Full Version : from the mouth of paul ince
birmingham and liverpool had a youth match last sunday and as most people know ince's son plays for liverpool boys.
my mates son plays for birmingham and he was standing on the side talking to ince for about half hour in total before the game and at half time.
a few things ince mentioned
- wolves fans are the best set of fans he has ever played for
- he wants to stay here after he finishes playing and would absolutely love the chance to be manager, and is doing his badges at the moment
- mentioned how angry and frustrating it is to him when other players dont put in the effort that he puts in, although wouldnt name names
- the players dont understand some of the things hoddle is trying to get them to do, and hoddle is the best player on the training pitch
- rick hayward is an absolute discrace to the name of the club, he hasnt got a clue about anything. is a rugby boy
- frankowski is awful in training, doesnt have a clue(although could be down to not speaking english fully and getting to know players)
- when asked about the attitude of players like kennedy he just gave a kind of what do you think expression.
i know all this is much of what everyone knows or can see already but i thought it is interesting to see that a person like ince can see what we can
absolutely 100% truth as well before anyone doubts the validity of this

Shame your mate's son didn't ask Ince why he's immune to criticism despite barely leaving the centre circle against Crewe.

Good to hear we're the best set of fans. Wonder what he says when asked by Man Utd or Liverpool fans...smileys/smiley9.gif

Time Hoddle pulls his boots on for the first team then if he wants to stay in charge!
Interesting to see his comments about (P)Rick, agree 100% with him but good to hear someone in the heart of the club confirm what we all think.
Ince is a Wolves man trough and through and after so many stupid decisions this club have made, if they allow Ince to leave the club it will be the final insult. Would love to see Ince have a crack at it though in the future but until then he should be coach/assistant manager, he is a born winner.

Loose lips sink ships. If he absolutely did say these things, then it doesn't say much for his integrity & loyalty to his employer or his team-mates, particularly in the situation in which they were said.

Is that because the match had not been played at that point? smileys/smiley2.gif

He should have realised that Ince was due to put in a performance which reminded us all of the heady days of Steve Sedgley. smileys/smiley2.gifsmileys/smiley9.gif

It's why Lescott doesn't get as much criticism as other players when he
has played badly.....he has earned some exemptment from criticism.

Because Rick is just a Ruger Bugger! What the hell does he know about running a footy team? Like so many have said, the team needs sorting out and that has to start from the top down. Jez balances the books and is good at that in my opinion, but someone mentioned about having a director of football, I think that would be a great idea, especially if Paul Ince should be given the chance to become manager, which in my opinion he should.
All great ideas, which I think we all know are never going to happen.

i think director of football is the way ahead.
You lot have no frame of reference when it comes to football club owners, have you forgotten the Bhattis?
I once did an ill advised post about a one time owner of Barnsley
football club that I deleted later, but it seems that their latest
owner is no better. Barnsley's current owner is a successful
businessman and apparantly a millionaire, yet the club have no money to
spend. He made the local press recently due to his latest idea, he
wants to sell the football club car park to a housing developer to fund
the building of a new stand.
We don't have such problems at Wolves, but we need to heed some
people's warning about how it could be. A Glazer style takeover can
plunge a club from being in the black to being millions in debt, I
wouldn't want that at Wolves.

Good points, but that is why all has to be in place so one mistake does not create a domino effect. That means a complete re-structure from the top down, so no one part can ruin the club.

If this were true it would be alarming on at least two counts. First of all a manager or coach must work with what he has got to get the best out of them and not pitch too high for them. Second if Ince believes Hoddle's way is right he is not the manager for us.
i think the fact that ince said this about wolves fans with a load of bluenoses around him says that the guy means it.
he didnt say the tactics were right or wrong, just that the players didnt understand them.
dont shoot the messenger on this one guys, and my ability to type in english is laughable at best most of the timesmileys/smiley2.gif
Just a completely randomidea but do you think Hoddle would be better off as a Director of Football for us with Incetaking over asaplayer manager? Would he take the position?
One thing people don't complain of is the calibre of playersHoddle has brought in, we're going to lose this if we do sack him? I think it's how Hoddle utilises these players that is what's questionable.

Don't know about you, but I can't see that Hoddles ego would allow someone else to be in charge. Same with Ince really, he's the sort of person who has to be the boss in his own right. Hoddle and Ince managing the club would be unworkable imo.

Sorry, but if the guy really is prepared to discuss the intimate internal workings of the club he is still employed by & to publically offer up critical opinions of named individuals, with some lad on the touchline(did he have a pre-printed questionnaire, by the way, to cover so much ground in such detail?), then as far as I'm concerned he has toally disqualified himself for consideration for this or any other managerial position. IF this did occur, it was neither the time or the place...UNLESS these are views that he has plainly made known to the people concerned on other occasions within the club.

Ah shut up.
(Acknowledges superior debating skills & exits stage left to bed). No, I don't live in a theatre.
if you had the chance to talk to someone like ince for a period of time are you saying that there wouldnt be things that you would like to ask him.
i mean these are just snippets from a half hour conversation which would probably have taken in the fact that their sons were playing in a match.
ince to me, doesnt seem to be the kind of person who will say something to someones face and then the complete opposite when talking about them.
i am pretty sure that these 'revelations' are known of in the club and are dealt with accordingly.
the guy has been outspoken all his career so i dont see why he should stop now. he should be applauded for his honesty not disqualified from any future management job.

is this not the same as the fake sheikh? ince is asked lots of questions which are then broadcast to the whole world via the net, moxey and rick will be told of this and will then punish ince by making glenn drop him until further notice. if ince is pulled over this one we know who to blame

Ince would have more integrity than to start slating everyone to a complete stranger!
Another BS thread!
Its Ok to try and spread some joy amongst the fans, but this is pure rubbish IMO!

My friends mate's son's brotheris very close to Jez Moxey and they were shopping at Asda.........
Really not interested in this type of thing it does not resolve how the team is going to play at its full potential, Frankowski can be the worst trainer in the world as long as he scores he shed load of goals on match days!
Part of the unwittingly but consistent negative stuff undermining our team at every juncture.

Incey must love the fans. Apart from Man U, he's played more times for us than any other club in his career, and that includes Inter and Liverpool.
In terms of restructuring, I'd like to see:
Sir Jack Hayward- Chairman
Jez Moxey- MD
Jim Smith- Director of Football / Assistant Manager
Paul Ince- Player/ Manager
