Considering <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Leeds were totally in the proverbial when they were relegated ( with us ) they now seem to be making a better fist of trying to secure promotion from this godforsaken division.

Is this due to Ken Bates ?

No. It is because Kevin Blackwell is their manager, and Glenn Hoddle is our manager. Simple.

Can you imagine the reaction if Jez closed the top tier of the BW and put the prices up to around £40 a ticket...................I would say Leeds success has been down to Blackwell.

Could it be anything to do with desire and commitment??

I agree that Hoddle should take the blame first and foremost. I wondered if anybody believed otherwise?
<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I don’t understand how Moxey ( or <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Hayward ) can be blamed for our current performances. Glenn Hoddle is the football manager, ie he is responsible for the ( $$$$$ ) football we are having to endure at the moment.

Interesting theme as Ken Bates would have been the chairman when Hoddle was manager of Chelsea. And was it not on his ability for managing that club he was appointed England manager.
I wonder how Blackwell would be with Hayward?

How many 'Hoddle Out' chants have you heard this season?
<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Thought so.
Its complete lunacy to think Hoddle will not be here until the end of this season ( at least ).

So, Hoddle doesn’t deserve any stick as he is employed by Moxey.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Yet Moxey deserves all the stick, even though he is employed by The Haywards??
You cant have it both ways!

Who said Hoddle doesn't deserve stick?
He's had plenty off stick of me and SOA.
Moxey gets and deserves plenty of stick.
Both should go at the end of the season.Edited by: IMAB
Good point Bill.
No it isn't it makes no sense.
I notice you've gone very quiet on the out of his depth thread.
Whats up?
Did you fail to find anyevidence to back up your claims of his greatness?
87.5% increase in turnover and 88% ticket price rise, brilliant financial management.

By using your reasoning, Hoddle is in place because Moxey employed him.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
By the same token, Moxey is in place because the Haywards employed him.

Fair enough. But you'd have to admit that it looks like Moxey is here for the long term. I haven’t seen ANY signs that the owners are unhappy in the way Moxey is dealing with the day to day running of the club.

Bill I have no doubt that Jez will not leave until he wants to, or SJH sells up.
Doesn't mean I have to be happy about it or believe it's for the best

Because they've consistently employed s!$*e managers. You can
blame a manager but when you're looking at five or six managers
something else must be wrong...

Has there been such a proportionate progression in performance of our club during this period? Has there b###ocks. Then again you can't blame Moxey & our owners for Hoddle - they only employed him on a nice fat contract after all.
Much of Moxey's alledged success with the financial side of the business has been largely due to the combination of the p/l money and the fans continuing to accept & paysignificant prices rises in the face of continuing drivel.
As someone said in a previous thread lets see how goodthe experts running our clubare without the above 2 factors next season.

"Prior to Bates' arrival at the club the manager would sometimes spend weeks lining up a player only for the board to veto the signing - a huge waste of his time and energy.
"If I need a decision made I can pick up the phone and the answer is yes or no," added Blackwell. "I can ask at 1pm and five minutes later I have got the answer.
"It does not take three weeks for a board to a make a decision and I think this is what has helped move the club on very quickly."
Remember Trevor Sinclair, the only one that Jones has spoken publicly about?
