Fenella and therein lies the problem......
We are outside the top flight we are looking for a payday...... Lets get into the Prem give us 3 seasons of stability then we can look at winning the thing.I want a Draw at the Mol back to Man u, get a pay day out the cup strengthen the team take some confidence and hopefully kick on in the second half of the season.

REALISTICALLY WE HAVE NO CHANCE OF WINNING THE BLOODY THING

Fenella... we ain't going to reach the final or win the thing when we aren't even capable of beating teams like Coventry, Plymouth (league not cup!), etc etc.

I'd rather agood home draw against one of the top teams in the country than losing at Barnsley, Palace, Preston, etc.

A bit of glamour for a change. Does anyone remember the two wonderful Cup matches we had against United in the late 60s (Best, Law, Charlton). The first was a quarter final tie and we went two up only to be beaten 5-3 in the end. What a match! And then a few years later in (I think) the fifth round we again met United at home and again went two goals up - Wharton got both I believe - and then again we got beaten, this time 4-2. United were at their peak in those daysand we had a usefulteam but with rather a porous defence.

Yes I remember them, I was at both and also the match in the Docherty era when we were two up and lost 3-2 after extra time. Wharton did get both the goals in that game they were penalties. These are probably the three best games of football I have seen in 40+ years of watching the Wolves.

s!$* draw that will see us hammered into the ground, like the opening games in the prem. We are a poor side and Fergie will know he isn't winning the league, and so this will be their main aim. Can see no-one being rested from them, maybe Rooney dropped to the bench in case of disasters.

...now tell me it wasn't a good draw !!!

I'd have taken any of those over Man Utd. It is a s!$* draw.

IMAB, personally I don't think we will get hammered into the ground..prepare yourself for a 1-0 defeat....Hoddle's tactics will work to a degree in that we will have Man Utd coming at us, but we will not be able to break them down and Hoddle will have cover in front of the defence.

Imo Fergie will want this desperately and won't mess about, put us to the sword then bring rooney off. We won't hold them to 1-0 they can't afford to take risks, foot off the pedal at 3-0

Isn't it what all well managed sides try to do?

Lets hope we can extend Huddlestone's loan. I don't fancy a midfield that has Kennedy AND Anderton in it.

I hope this fixture would not deviate our focus at least to win the last playoff place available. I consider the first 5 places are already settled and only the 6th place is still available and there are some 6 teams fighting for this place.

While I welcomed this fixture, I prefer more points in the Championship.

Three championship points the week before were more important to me than a 'glamour tie' with man U, but it didn't happen and I'd rather have the excitement and the occasion of this game than, for example, Coventry away. Hoddle will encourage his passing game rather than a high tempo in your faces type of game that can sometimes upset premier sides.

Sadly MU are probably better at that game than us - bracing myself for a comfortable defeatsmileys/smiley19.gif

we've little chance of beating united and we won't get the gate receipts we would have had the game been at old trafford.

overall its a pretty awful draw.

True, I'd much rather have had Leicester away.

PW, think positive mate.

Man Utd have a shed load of games coming up these couple of weeks before playing Wolves andwill by the time they face us have played 5 games compared with our 2. With the exception of Burton, Man Utd face Blackburn twice in the Carling cup as well as Prem games involving a local derby this weekend and Liverpool at home the Sunday before most likely facing us. Their 2nd leg game V's BR is Wednesday, 25 January 2006.

Yes they have a better squad than ours but they will have been worked.

Wolves have every chance of beating them. We weren't expected to beat them in the Prem but did andWolves were underdogs at home to Newcastle a few seasons back and Leeds away in he FA Cup 1/4 finals.

The beebgenerally plump for all Premiership ties when they can, but Sky will consider it as they are always up for a possibleupset.
