Just back, long trip around the traffic
Really poor performance, scraped 2 goals, wednesday had far more shots and had that effort that went back off the post gone in, it would have been a different story. We created few chances.
Have no idea what Anderton was doing on the pitch. Seol looked alright but alright=average. Naylor went off late, no idea what happened to Ndah from the seats i had onboard the International Space Station.
Can't be bothered with ratings but the team was decidedly average and don't really think the scoreline reflected the game.
Postma by far man of the match, had he not been in we would have lost, simple as. Pulled off some blinding saves.
Which can't be said of Weaver, had nothing to do bar 2 saves, although gathered them well. 2nd goal was really week.
Hillsborough looks like a bigger version of Bramall Lane!

Notice that Hoddle's post match comments included:
"I was most pleased with Kenny's goal, because it was scruffy - and we don't score many like that."
No Glenn, should have finished ....'and we don't score many' FULL STOP!

Problem arises when you play someone that's any good. That sort of performance against anyone in the top half and we'd have been murdered.

I thought one of the best players in a wolves shirt tonight was Craddock looked asured and solid...
Wasn't an amazing performance but definately a marked improvement on boxing days shower (couldn't get much worse)
Was a nasty challege on Ndah (could that now be the end), major plus point was the return of The Guv'nor, soon got into he usual role of barracking and organising his team-mates, god how we've missed that

Very average performance but it was the result which really mattered tonight.
Sheff Wed were possibly the worst team I have ever seen in this division, and I've seen some bad teams.
Just back. It was effective football, which is what many have been crying out for.
Why was Kennedy started? Why was he still on the pitch at the
end? He really was poor, for a second game. Huddlestone
really has to take his place next game.
Ince looked great, some decent passes as well as his normal agression!
Ndah looks dead, can't see him playing again to be honest. Bad
news about Naylor, that's our two left backs out, please not Kennedy
there again!
It was very cold out there and a forgetable game but three points, that's all that matters.

Just got back, the day out was more notable for pre-match incident smileys/smiley36.gif.
The game itself passed me by not only because of those stupid pillars....wait it is the bang on my head prior to the game convincing me that I was watching a game on West Park from the bandstand.
When I finally escaped the clutches of the Gardeners Rest I found my way to the Horse and Jockey, promptly winning £20 on the footie card. As I.D will witness despite me lecturing those around me to watch their footing, I went ass over tit into a garden wall, I'm still discovering the bruises.smileys/smiley36.gifsmileys/smiley4.gif
Still we won, three points in the bag.

Yes we got three points and deserved I'd say but today's result masks over the fact we are still a p!$* poor football team thats until Ince come on.....when Ince came on we stopped playing it to the flanks and looked to play it through the centre and we looked a much better team..proves my point with Ince in the team we are brilliant...three gilt edge chances missed in the last 5 minutes we should have won 5 in the end....
Sorry but Wednesday had 2 minutes in the first half in which Postma saved two brilliantly and hit the post after that nothing....
Again we rely on Ince to sort us out and tonight proved it again....No Ince no performance....

It's OK, we're reminded constantly about it on here just in case we forget.
i didnt think it was a bad performance at all. they did the job effectively, vio missed a couple of sitters and miller had a chance but chose the selfish option rather than to cross it/pass it.
the place is still a dump, i cant believe that was one of the top stadiums in the country a few years ago. it might be big but its a decrepid hole of a place.
i agree though that wednesday were shockingly bad. the last team i saw who were that bad was Stockport after the ITV Digital thing and they had no money. But even they tried to play a bit, not just flap about.
lets hope we carry on equally effeciently against plymouth. that will only be helped if M.K aint anywhere near the hallowed turf. ive been thinking over the last few weeks that that rumour about the clause in his contract about him playing when fit is true, no other reason he would be picked by any sane person, but then again...........

Tooright there, we've sorely missed The Guv'nor the only guy who knows whats needed to be the clubs captain, lets hope we can keep him fit for the remainder of the season

A hat-trick of nuts.
It was a truly awful performance!
Plymouth have been quite useful just recently, just in bloody time for our two games, typical!
If a player like Kennedyis playing SSSSOOOO badly , and say we wanted to get rid of him because of his poor form, what power/leverage does he have when he demands hisplace in the team when we start to leave him out of the starting line-up? Even if this unlikely clause existsit would be toothless. Overall though this season, I still thinkMK has been one of the better players, despite his woeful performance this evening.
Behave.
Down side for me tonight was the behaviour of some of our own support,I had to move coz two morons constantly stood in front of us,then I moved again out of embarrasment because of the language when there was a young family ( pre teen kids with Mum & dad) and the guy right behind me called Kennedy and Naylor "illigimate masterbators" every time they touched the ball!!Finished my night sat in front of an ignorant racially biased pillock who abused Seol with shouts of "Come on chinky do somat" Ching chong that was crap"and extra marks for wit"Someone take the Chinky takeaway away".I thought the stewards were pretty poor and the free for all seating peed me off coz my ticket seat was quite good,no direct pillar.so all in all a bit of a poor do.

Could have sat next to me.......you in your wisdom declined...smileys/smiley32.gif
Certainly not a classic game, but perhaps not as bad as some would have
you believe. The pre-match pub was half decent with quite a few Wolves
fans in, HGW won the football card that they ran by picking Man City.
He then went on to demonstrate that a skinful of real ale and an icey
surface don't mix, with a fall that would have killed off Ndah. He
ended his ice dance move by hitting his head on a garden wall whilst
sliding along on his back, Torvill and Dean eat your hearts out.
Back to the game, it was another one of those games where we were the
better of two poor sides. As Hoddle said, the result became more
important than the content of the game.
Postma. Made 2 very good saves, but was as undecided about some crosses
as Oakes usually is. His kicking was mostly poor and he found touch
with a couple of goal kicks.
Edwards. Had a reasonable game and looked useful when getting forward.
combined better with Cameron and Ndah than with other players on the
right in previous games.
Naylor. Hit and miss game again and then went off injured. He felt the
need to do a couple of his chases after the ball when he had made a
mistake and then ended up out of position when needed in defence.
Craddock. A strange combination of delicate passes and unneccessary
hoofing the ball up in the air, of assured defending and scarey moments
under pressure.
Lescott. More assured than Craddock and good positional sense, but was worryingly beaten for pace again on one occasion.
Cameron. Did his usual harrying and chasing and combined well with the others on the right at times, but was inconsistent.
Anderton. Was almost unnoticeable, but popped up in the box to score. A
pillar blocked some of my view, but what I saw of his goal looked
scrappy. He seemed unfit and needed taking off when he was.
Kennedy. As for Cameron, but Kennedy didn't combine well with others on
the left. Bizzarrely, he looked more of an attacking threat when Naylor
went off and he moved to left back. He also looked more of an attacking
threat than Naylor had at left back.
Ndah. Made some useful looking runs. Even without his old pace, he
scared the Wednesday defence and was hacked down on more than one
occasion. A late, poor tackle looked to have finally ended his career
at Wolves.
Ganea. Struggled with a role that he was not suited to and had to cope
with quite a few balls just lumped in his general direction. Missed a
good chance when through on goal near the end and missed a half chance
when set up by Miller.
Seol. Largely ineffective and usually had to face 2 men when he got
possession. It's a credit to him that he is given the respect of
players doubling up on him, but no consolation to us when we create few
chances.
Subs.
Miller. Not as disciplined positionally as Ndah and tended to drift
about more then the latter had. Took advantage of yet another Wednesday
defensive lapse to score a tap in. Could have had another, but the
keeper stood up to him well and parried the shot.
Ince. Came on to a great welcome from the Wolves fans, most of whom
loved everything that he did. The fans had Anderton to judge him
against and so he was bound to look good. His hopeful punts upfield
would have been booed if Anderton or Kennedy had done them, but one
such punt nearly led to a goal from Ganea. Ince needs to join the
Alderley Edge branch of Weight Watchers and is finally showing his age.
Huddlestone. Slotted into the position which had been occupied by
Kennedy, who went to left back. Again, he looked good in the fans eyes,
due to the player that he replaced. He and Kennedy looked better in
both attack and defence than the previous partnership had.
I haven't done a verdict for a while, but this thread sorely needed one. I
would have posted it on another forum, but this one is dying on it's
arse. Maybe I should just let posters stick to, "We wuz s!$*".

Didn't give a verdict last night as not home until really late and couldn't in all honesty be bothered at that time as it was a poor game played out by two poor sides. Only difference was that SW were worse than Wolves. At least I can look back and say it wasn't a wasted journey and the victory was vital but it was a performance best forgotten.
Postma, kept us in the game on occasion but didn't look that assured.
Edwards, steady and reliable but without looking that impressive.
Naylor, tried hard as usual but yet more inconsistency in his game.
Craddock, as Edwards.
Lescott, pick of the defence but that isn't saying much.
Cameron, worked hard and chased about lots but too often looked in headless chicken mode.
Anderton, other than his goal total waste of time. Bloke is struggling for fitness and is a liability IMV.
Kennedy, bloke is not a midfield player in a month of Sundays.Tries hard but fails most of it.
Seol, didn't do much of anything.
Ndah, tried hard as ever but not overly effective. His injury looks poor and harsh as it may sound Wolves need to move on and away for GN.
Ganea, looked out of sorts but kept going.
Miller, done what he is paid to.
Ince, done okay but needs games.
Huddlestone, certainly far better than MK or Anderton but that's not hard to imagine.
Ndah looks dead, can't see him playing again to be honest. Bad
news about Naylor, that's our two left backs out, please not Kennedy
there again!
There are TWO?!?!?!

Hod's 80s perm

Job done, as simple as that and a welcome three points after the debacle that was Reading.
The game was pretty poor and, be it for some woeful finishing from a diabolical Sheff Wed team, we could well have been level before Miller's strike.
Was impressed with the Pheasant Inn where we had six or seven pints before the game and I thought the following was very impressive considering the conditions.
We had some chavs sitting next to us, who seemed to have a s!$* song for every little thing that happened, including a personal tirade on Nicky Weaver.
Thank god the family income support can't stretch to every game.

Agreed re the result Hod's 80's perm but it concerns me hat Wolves will face far better sides a lot more often his season.
I appreciate you can only play and beat the side facing you but the 2-0 win flatters us IMHO.

Sheffield Wednesday haven't scored for 7 games and haven't won since late October. They were truly, truly dire and we were better than them but still didn't win it with the comfort we should have, consdiering they really didnt have that much of the ball they still missed 2 or 3 sitters and hit the post. Had sheffield just been poor instead of dire it would have been another 1-1 draw, we were lucky we were playing probably the worst side in the division at the moment.

i just got back after staying at a relatives up north. in some stages, especially the first 15mins, our football was far superior to there's and a large score looked on the cards. yet in typical wolves fashion (this season) we took our foot of the ball and let them back into it. despite some sheff weds pressure, i was never at one stage worried.
man of the match for me was cameron. the guy was all over the place, making forward runs, getting stuck in, and for a lil man, isnt afraid to get up in the air and challenge, and he does win a few. he kept going forward-please read mark kennedy, forward! every time he got the ball, sideways, backwards. i thought kieth andrews had returned!
wolves fans were excellent, especially the comments sung to nicky weaver!
im still however puzzled why huddlestone isnt in the team. anyone shed any light on this? next game i would like to see him and ince in the centre...
potsma- some excellent saves. people, lay off his kicking. incase you havent noticed, he is instructed to kick to a precise area on the side, which is a hard thing to do. when kicking straight down the middle there is no problem. i would definately sign him glenn. 8
edwards-playing that well im starting to question the purchase of JM! another assured performence from our most improved player this season.7
naylor- fits and starts again. some good work, some awful. dont think he was really helped by kennedy at all. linked well with seol on occasions however. 6
craddock-problem is this. we have gyepes! craddock was superb again last night when he deputised. strong in air and played safe all night. did feel he was hard done by by the ref. 7.5
lescott-couple of slight errors, but yet again solid! 7
anderton- with the ball at his feet, hes superb. good vision, and did show good energy, although my concerns about him being able to finish a match are still evident. 7
cameron- livewire, battler, energetic, committed. excellent performence. 8.5
kennedy- not going to bother. 5
seol-possible the worlds most frustrating player at times, but at times, for this division, he is unstoppable. some of his runs were great, and his balls in in the dying minutes to ganea were fantastic. i feel soory for the lad, everytime he gets it, there are swarms of opposition players around him. played well though! 7
ndah-i felt so sorry for the lad. everytime he got the ball, their right back shat his pants. good forward runs, good pace. was a bit slack with defensive duties at time. all the best george. great send off by the fans. 6.5
ganea-at times, i dont know how he manages to do what he does. just when he seems to have lost it, he manages to nick it away from defender. however, did this about twice. cannot play up front by himself. did at times hold ball up well, but everythime he seems to go for the ball, a free-kick seems to be awarded. 6
miller- good movement and positioning, especially for goal. even did a slide tackle-what commitmentsmileys/smiley2.gif7
ince-great to see him back, some of his passing is what we have been missing. MK can get lost. with ince and whoever in the team, there will be much more forward play, at a quicker rate. did look a bit beefy though? 7
huddlestone-token gesture 6
overall, a win is a win, against a team who we didnt really needf to break a sweat against, especially considering we have another game on saturday.

Or being a chav.smileys/smiley32.gif
Postma - Quality - 8
Lescott - Steady - 6.7
Edwards - likewise - 6.5
Craddock - again steady - 6.5
Naylor - Pap, gave the ball away countless times - 3.734
Cameron - Lively and gave his all - 7.5
Kennedy - p1ss poor, Him and Nayls were utter pap - 3.731
Anderton - Good passing, decent finish but cant play in the same midfield as Sparky IMO - 7
Seol - Did well and showed fight and creativity, was double marked for most of the game - 7
Ndah - looked lively and energetic until his injury, poor bloke - 6.5 (we need a similar striker in January)
Ganea - Gave it his all but often seems a yard off the pace. Unlucky not to score however. 6.5
Subs - note: We looked a far better team withthe midfield weended the match with.
Miller - fantastic skill and work rate, please stay Kenny!!smileys/smiley19.gif - 8
Ince -Calmed things down and sprayed the ball about really well, great to have him back- 7
Huddlestone - Only on for a short time but looked a class above, If he doesnt start against Plymouth I'll be dissapointed. - 7
Overall- we were lucky Wednesday were so crap but lets hope the team can build from here.
