So...Craddock returns to the back line and we win.
Is this a coincidence or is Craddock the main man?

SOA Wolf 28-12-2005, 23:07 So...Craddock returns to the back line and we win. Is this a coincidence or is Craddock the main man? ...and you forgot to mention....a clean sheet.....ooooh, I'll have 19th after me for that remark.smileys/smiley2.gif 19th Holer 28-12-2005, 23:10 Stop winding me up you pair. smileys/smiley2.gif Craddock is an adequate squad player to bring in when we have injuries butnot good enoughfor every week, it was only Sheff Wed ffs! In Hod We Trust 29-12-2005, 00:04 Well he was solid tonight when called upon, and thats all you can ask shame a few others dont have the same attitude Kris Kringle 29-12-2005, 00:50 Well he was solid tonight when called upon, and thats all you can ask shame a few others dont have the same attitude Exactly. His positioning could be questioned at times but you do ALWAYS get 100% honesty and effort. Something that should be applauded imo. We also have a very good record with him in the team this season. Black Suit 29-12-2005, 01:35 Well he was solid tonight when called upon, and thats all you can ask shame a few others dont have the same attitude ........... but as a team we looked decidedly dodgey on many occasions at the back In Hod We Trust 29-12-2005, 01:40 yes as a team, you defend as team right the way through... I still belive Craddock came in and did well tonight... As times there was holes left and free headers won between the midfield and defence... I bet these holes will be filled when Incey is back in the starting line up! Hatch End Wolf 29-12-2005, 11:02 Craddock is OK at our level, not a terrible player apart from the awful "Craddock moments", but not outstanding in any way. Gypes looks a better player, is younger and has improved as he's adjusted to English football. Craddock should therefore only be thereserve player for the centre-back positions. The club needs to move on from an acceptance of ordinary as a benchmark and start working towards improving every position on the field.Wolves won't get out of this division again by giving automatic places to players whose abilities are average at best. dr cool 29-12-2005, 11:05 they are doing this... gyepes for fanny postma for oakes rosa for kennedy ?smileys/smiley2.gif new striker for vio etc etc.... drsmileys/smiley16.gif Essex Wolf 29-12-2005, 11:24 Well he didn't let us down last night but neither did he do or need to do anything that impressive. Wednesday were a terrible side only made to look half decent because Wolves weren't a great deal better. Uncle Festa 29-12-2005, 11:30 If Craddock was only ok then I take thatas him having a very good game going on the slagging Lescott gets on here when he plays fairly good instead of MOM. Hatch End Wolf 29-12-2005, 12:02 I've no objection to players like Craddock being squad members at Wolves, there have to be reserve players. Lets face it he's only one of a bunch of ordinary footballers at the club. I just want to see Hodgodfinding, and selecting, a first choice team of better quality playersand gradually easing out the players who are not going to carry this club forward. Dr. Cool seems to think there is an improvementplan at the club, well I'm not so sure. I'll change my mind if Rosa replaces Kennedy, for instance, but on Hodgod's record I'm entitled to have doubts. Essex Wolf 29-12-2005, 12:09 HEW, I've said a while now that judging GH may be a better idea once the next transfer window has taken place. He, the club or both messed up by not making signings before but seem to have things better??? prepared for next time round, I certainly hope they have anyway. Having signed Gyepes and Rosa I'm not expecting loads more new faces but another couple would be nice and the age/quality of those new players will be important IMV. Hatch End Wolf 29-12-2005, 12:50 Essex.... Surely theycan't let another transfer window go by without signing a striker. Even if Miller sees out his contract we've only got him, Ganea, Cort ( if ever fit ) as experienced strikers, plus Clarke! and young Cornes. It looks as if we can stop including Ndah in the list now; not that there ever was more than an outside chance of him playing again. Slip On Shoes 29-12-2005, 13:18 I thought Craddock was poor, he has been since he signed for us and last night was typical Craddock. Distribution was awful and looks shaky when people are running at him, had we been playing against a side who hadn't not scored in their last 7 he would have been found out (as he has so many times in a Wolves shirt). Incidentally I think Lescott always looks better when Craddocki is next to him because he has to be on constant alert for a Craddock moment and mop up the danger for him. I also stand by the argument that giving Craddock a new contract a couple of months ago with still 18 months left on his current deal and the manager not willing to commit a contract past next May is one of the worst footballing decisions made by this club. Metro Wolf 30-12-2005, 18:37 Craddock is OK but if a certain Mr Jones and Mr Moxey think £1.75m was a good deal then they need a reality check. £5.5m on Craddock Cort and Olifinjana. It hurts. smileys/smiley19.gif Hatch End Wolf 30-12-2005, 18:51 Craddock isn't a terrible defender and all players make mistakes. It's just that the betterdefenders seem to be able to rectify their errors by making last ditch tackles etc. Lescott quite often does this and I've noticed that Gypeshas a similar attribute.Sadlythe Cradster is one of those players who can play 89 mins quite well, then he makes a mistake which leaves him looking on as the opposition scores. If we'd got him on free or a Bosman, just as a squad member,he might have been easier to accept, but £1m+ was far too much for a journeyman ( whatever Sunderland fans say about him ). PS.Is it possible that Sunderland fans are having a laugh at our expence? "Player of the year"!? I.D. 30-12-2005, 18:53 Craddock's contract was only extended because it will take longer than he originally estimated to complete his paint by numbers picture of the Moxey family. Banter to Naylor on Wednesday when he lauched the ball into orbit, "$$$$$$$ing hell Lee, at least Craddock can paint". SOA Wolf 30-12-2005, 21:01 HEW, I've said a while now that judging GH may be a better idea once the next transfer window has taken place. Having signed Gyepes and Rosa I'm not expecting loads more new faces but another couple would be nice and the age/quality of those new players will be important IMV. Essex, he's already let two transfers windows pass by since he's been here as well as a loan window.....don't get too excited we certainly seem to miss out on more than we get....and that was when we were favourites to go up. The Bear 30-12-2005, 22:55 Craddock is a very good defender. Excellent in the air (better than Gyepes IMO), marks well, runs across to cover situations excellently, and can make the odd last ditch tackle quite well. But occasionally he loses his positional sense and has no pace to get himself out of trouble. That's where things go wrong for him. Overall though his worst attribute is when a player runs at him. He backs off worse than anyone else I've seen. Whereas Gyepes, and especially Lescott with his pace, always seem to try and manouvre themselves alongside and use their strength to make it more difficult to get past them. 19th Holer 31-12-2005, 01:37 Gyepes reads the game and anticipates potential danger. Craddock totally and utterly ball watches and that is his biggest problem. |
