View Full Version : The verdict. Kenny-11 28-12-2005, 21:40 1) Job Done 2) Superb title to the commentary thread me thinks smileys/smiley4.gif Bolton Hater 28-12-2005, 21:41 Good work and some quiet forums tonight smileys/smiley17.gif The Weasel 28-12-2005, 21:42 Happy with the points, worried about the injuries Kenny-11 28-12-2005, 21:42 Back into the 6th place (for the doom mongers - but only on GD) Downside 2 more injuries, Ndah....sounds like the end for the man and Naylor didn't sound to promising either Florida Wolfey 28-12-2005, 21:44 Better but Wednesday had their moments and against better teams we'd have been punished. Kenny-11 28-12-2005, 21:46 Better but Wednesday had their moments and against better teams we'd have been punished. Would we though? Wednesday created some great scoring chances but Postma was on top form again. The Bear 28-12-2005, 21:48 Postma MOTM I reckon. Miller closely following. Florida Wolfey 28-12-2005, 21:49 Better but Wednesday had their moments and against better teams we'd have been punished. Would we though? Wednesday created some great scoring chances but Postma was on top form again. Arsenal, MUFC or Chelsea would have crushed us. smileys/smiley2.gif bored wolf 28-12-2005, 21:49 Should stop them before they trouble the goalie... Still, Postma did well, again. Sign him now. Dorsetwolf 28-12-2005, 21:53 Must sign Postma with Murray still messin' about! Great result. SCB 28-12-2005, 21:56 Good to hear Ince was on again. Postma seemed mint smileys/smiley32.gif Papa 28-12-2005, 23:59 Well done Wolves. Three Points was vital and it sets us up nicely for another three on Saturday, takeeach game as it comes.Great to hear the Guvnor is back http://d1309274.u29.jodoshared.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gifand good to hear Anderton and Kenny scored. Shame about George, blighted a good night by the sound of it. I'm not too sure how we played because it's difficult to tell when listening to The Wolf but all in all a good way to respond to last Mondays Shambles. Essex Wolf 29-12-2005, 11:46 The points were all important, the performance was rubbish. Deutsch Wolf 29-12-2005, 11:51 Good performances against the likes of Burnley, Ipswich, Leeds, Watford etc have got us nothing this season. I'll take the rubbish performance and the three points, and fingers crossed that we can follow it up with wins over Plymouth and Coventry. I think most people would have taken 9 points from the Christmas fixtures beforehand. Janson Wolf 29-12-2005, 11:52 Having battled the elements and gone to the game I have to agree that the performance was not great but there were some positive elements: 1) Postma was outstanding 2) Craddock was solid 3) Ince returned 4) 3 points from a poor performance, something the other Sheffield team have done all season. We've blown teams away and got no points (Burnley at home stands out)! On the downside, doesn't look like we'll be seeing George anytime soon which is a real shame and Sparky will be left back!!!! Essex Wolf 29-12-2005, 11:54 Good performances against the likes of Burnley, Ipswich, Leeds, Watford etc have got us nothing this season. Good points DW and I have to agree but I don't believe Wolves will end up facing many more teams anywhere near as poor as SW. Oldgold Wolfcub 29-12-2005, 11:57 Good performances against the likes of Burnley, Ipswich, Leeds, Watford etc have got us nothing this season. It depends on what you classify as a good performance. Certainly running around doing a lot of fancy work and then not making it pay by poor work in the final third and poor finishing is not in my books good performance. Out of those games listed, which ones have you seen? Lupo Italiano 29-12-2005, 12:08 Know nothing of the game as I was out last night and didn't know the result until gone 11.00 but I know Anderton scored our 7,000th league goal which made us the first to reach this landmark. Postma is turning out to be the real find, I have been very impressed with him each time I've seen him. Superb shot stopper and commands his box well. Sign him up quick. Great result but will probably be a false dawn. We need to start stringing wins together rather than grabbing the odd one every couple of weeks! Kenny-11 29-12-2005, 12:11 I know Anderton scored our 7,000th league goal which made us the first to reach this landmark. Nope, Anderton scored number 7002. Seol got the record v Palace. Can't be arsed to but a link but there is a story on the Wolves site about how 2 of our scores from the 1800's were wrong (v Stoke it was put down as 4-2 but we beat them 5-2 and Everton was down as 4-0 and we beat them 5-0....or something like that). Know what you mean and this discussion has taken place before. My own view of the performances against the likes of Burnley etc were that Wolves dominted but let themselves down through poor finishing . I feel DW is making the point that we played poorly at SW but still won so maybe it's better to be poor and take 3 points than look a class?? act but lose. |
