Don't think you'll find many if any who will say that now but a few of us still believe if he got his mind right he would be an asset to the club. Edited by: Essex Wolf

he would be an asset to the club.

Of that Essex there can surely be no doubt, however the events of the last year show that he sees himself as bigger than the club and unfortunately he needs torealise that no-one is.

It would be interesting to know how Camara feels about himself a year
on....he hardly had a successful season-and anyone who wants to improve
themselves has to be able to clinically analyse their progress.
He needs to get his head down and work hard, whoever he plays for...he
can't dispute the fact that his overall performances are inconsistent...he
s often thrilling but after a few games just fades out.....

I don't like the guy and never will forget what he has done, but he is a big asset and he will score 20+ goals in the champ.

But I can't see him staying!

Camara won't stay. But if he did and Hoddle gets his head together and he helps us into the Premiership fine by me. But it won't happen. Portsmouth is my guess for around £1.5m. I would describe my position as U bend...to our will and I will just about accept your presence in the black and gold as long as it helps lead to automatic promotion. But just between you and me you make me sick.

At the end of the day if Camara comes back to us and scores 30 goals and gets us promoted, the fickle fans will chant his name and all will be forgotton, but I don't think in my heart he will ever pull on a Wolves shirt again.

It remains to be seen how well Camara re-integrates with his teammates
at Wolves, after all, they may still hold it against him that they
didn't pick up a big promotion bonus last term. If he knuckles down (a
big if), it will be like signing a new player. There are no bids on the
table, he remains our player and as such we need to make sure we get
the best out of him. Any talk of banishing him to the reserves is
rather silly and pointless. Hoddle needs to start rebuilding the
bridges between the club and the player that were set alight by Camara
himself, his uncle, and his agent.

I fully accept the argument that we should sell him, but there are no
buyers at the moment with us having missed our chance of flogging him
to Southampton when they were desperate and had wads of cash after the
Beattie sale. Camara is now damaged goods in the eyes of potential
buying clubs.

This impasse is no good to anyone - I'd rather he was at least trying
to score goals for us than the two parties carry on this brinksmanship
that only Camara and his agent will win. He is obviously still a
mercenary of the highest order, but two can play at that game. If he is
restored to the side and scores the goals that get us up I will rub my
hands with glee that the toe-rag was made to do a climbdown.

I haven't got to like him, I haven't got to cheer him, and I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my face.

Agreed 100% SSW.

Also only a small point thats been mentioned on a previous thread GH will be able to communicate in French to Camara. Which will be much better than raiding the Uni for French speaking Lecturers like last time.

I think this goes a little bit beyond language barriers.

The rat stitched up Moxey and Jones and has done the same to Hoddle and Moxey today. He was due back for training this morning, after the club (ie you STH) had paid him to have a extended break, he couldnt even be arsed to show up on time and when he did finally turn up, he went for another chat.

Far to many Camara threads and he must think we still love and
adore him and are ignoring the loyal players we already have.

A $$$$$$ will always be a $$$$$$.

Stick him up on Ebay I'm sure someone will buy him.

I can just see the item description now :-

OK, we fine him for breaching club rules. Then what?

The situation as it stands dictates that we bring him back into the
fold, perhaps he'll respond and we all move on. It's pointless
continuing to just persecute him because neither party will get
anywhere. At this moment in time there are no buyers, we have a player
on the books earning more than £10k per week and I'm of the opinion we
should all now just get on with it.

Importantly, the club have said there will be no firesale for our
want-away maverick although for months I've been predicting a sale for
less than £1m. I hope they stick to their word because it would be
entertaining watching Camara making an embarrassing climbdown and would
also be entertaining watching him tearing opposition defences to pieces
in this rubbish division. If he wants to play mercenary I'm sure the
supporters can be mercenary too.

so what do we as a club do? camara has continually taken the p1ss out of everyone concerned with this club, on a professional and fan level. when he went on strike last july, when he came back in the von dutch shirt (like today, three days and six hours late for that meeting), and now again today.

no matter how good he might be, to pander and let him dictate when and where he bothers to attend cannot be good for the club as a whole. you simply cannot have prima donnas who are bigger than the club - they will ruin it. Look at liverpool in the spice boy years, forest when van hoojidonk was there, and newcastle most recently.

i agree that camara could be an asset. but for him to be an asset he needs to toe the line and play to the same rules that everyone else plays to, whether he likes it or not. if he wants to leave, fine. so does miller, if a premiership club came in today then [probably] any other player would be keen to go too. but until such time as a transfer happens they remain wolves players, and they turn up for training, and they play, and they give 100%.

if camara won't play to the same rules we have no option but to get him out. and if jez is insistent that we get the market value, and he values him at £3m, nobody will buy. in that case we need to either drop the price (like ssw, if someone offered me £1m plus bonuses i would take it), or let him go on loan and go through the same torturousprocess all over again, for the fourth time, next summer.

for me unless he turns over a new leaf starting tomorrow, i want him out of this club as soon as possible.

SSW
14-07-2005, 23:56
You're right with all that, flippers. On the face of it the club have
said there will be no firesale, so a sub £1m sale is out of the
question (at the moment but it might still happen).

I hope nobody comes in for him, I think it will be entertaining
watching him squirm and say he loved the club all along. It's in his
best interests to toe the line, if he wants his big move he'll have to
show that he's got the right attitude otherwise he's stuck with us.

I'm sure we can turn this whole situation to our advantage as long as we play it right.

The club right now have to try and get him on side and massage his huge ego.Staying or going the club need him to look as model a pro as he can manage, if he stays to re ingratiate himself with the players, and if he's going to show he has turned over a new leaf to stabilize his market value.

If the club scream and shout both sides will become more entrenched and both sides will lose. Whatever happens I don't want camara here for another 2 years training with the academy boys on £15k a week. That would be a waste of the money I put into the club.

We fine him every time he breaks the rules to show the rest of the squad, who all behave like professionals, that no matter how exciting you are, or how well you play when the pressures off this club is bigger than any individual.

The club made the very best of a poor situation last season, this season they are looking very weak indeed, fine therat the most we can and continue to do this until he does what we pay him to, turn up for training on time. Surely every single fan has the right to expect that of the rat.

I wonder what Sir Jack makes of all this, a average player on decent money making a mockery of this club and its fans and getting paid by the club to do it!</DIV>
