That could be something to do with the fact they sold the best defender they had to WHU Siunt so whilst accepting DJ needs to replace him signing players like Cox are hardlythe quality replacement needed considering what they have lost. Just my view mind.

Thought Bischoff was okay in the games I saw him but picking up another injury whilst at Molineux didn't help him or us sadly.
GH has now had chance to look at him and didn't bother to take up the chance to sign him, as to why I have no idea but I trust GH's judgement far more than I ever did or will DJ's.

What you have got to realise though is why they sold their two best defenders to WHU for £3million! They are in debt, so DJ has very limited funds with which to replace these players!
Personally I think he's doing a good job so far, and maybe he would have been more successful here if we had made him sell before he could buy instead of throwing money at him!
He's still a pretty poor manager though IMO, but he does have some ability in the transfer market on a budget!

Fair poiints Suint and as regards DJ and his transfer dealings, well it has often been said maybe he was given too much money. As such DJ didn't really have to work or look too hard to find and get what he wanted. When the purse strings were tightened things became a lot harder for him, obvious really but he then never showed, not to me anyway, this so called ability to find quality without paying money. The Camara deal aside DJ signed a lot of players worth nowhere near what he paid IMO.
As for Cardiffs situation, I'm sure DJ would have had a roughidea of how things were going to be but my point is here that once again he is not working too hard to find quality but just signings has beens. If he is/was so good at locating good players then Cardiff is the very sort of place he should show his worth. Signing a player like Cox is not what I'd call showing this ability he apparently has/had.

fair enough Essex but how long will it continue? will threads still be getting started next pre season as to who cardiff are trying to sign? Jones is gone ( which you are probably the happiest about ) so why do we still need to take an interest in what he's doing or signing now?

fair enough. but a big enough hole was dug! i'm just frustrated that no news is coming from our club about signings while clubs around us are making moves( admittedly for players who I wouldn't want at the mol!). The club tease us by annoucing that we have made three bids for players, two of which are 7 figure sums then we hear nothing for what seems an eternity!!

Well we know that 2 of those players were Idiakez and Rasiak! we have dropped our interest in Rasiak as Miller is staying! As for Idiakez, we had 2 bids rejected and are preparing a third bid!
The other player is meant to be a bit special, and the transfer may take a long time if it happens at all!
This is all we have heard so far, but I weould prefer to wait a little longer and get our players than have them stolen from under our noses, like in the Jones era, especially the prem season!

Didn't Glenn say he was after an experienced player, a youngster and someone in the middle? well the Derby lads are 31 and 26 so that's the experience and middle ones which leavesthe youngster and with the other two being a midfielder and a striker that must mean the younster is a defender? the only youngish defender we've been linked with is Gardner who was going to Charlton until he failed his medical so the club is doing a good job keeping things under wraps!

I agree, I suppose it's back to the lets just wait and see method! it's wearing a bit thin though!!!!! Anyway the team at the moment with a good pre season behind them will be a match for virtually every other club this season so i'm sure we'll be up there, a couple more good signings could just make the job that bit easier!!
