View Full Version : OT Met the great man today - MEMORABILIA
Spent a couple of hours at 'Memorabilia' at the NEC today, before I rushed off to the match (the least said about that the better).
I've heard mixed reports about Steve Bull, but I have to say that in the flesh he's the nicest bloke you could meet. I had to be at the NEC really early thanks to Sky's ******* early kick off so I was able to spend 4-5 minutes chatting to him and very impressed. He clocked my Wolvesjacket right away and signedmy topalong with my season tickets, and 90/91 top andsigned photos for my bro and missus. Chatted about Wolves and gave me a tip for today - 3-1 to the Wolves (glad I didn't have time to put a bet on).
I think he's there tomorrow so if you get chance I'd definitely recommend going along to meet a legend who also happens to be a bl**dy nice bloke. Check the details at www.memorabilia.co.uk (http://www.memorabilia.co.uk) though.
Other people I met while I was there:
Darth Vader (Dave Prowse) - nice bloke but a little distracted
Robert Lewellen (sp) (Kryton out of Red Dwarf) - very chatty. gave me inside info about Red Dwarf film
Chris Barrie (Lister out of Red Dwarf) - sharp, witty, sarcastic. Exactly as you'd expect him to be
Lelaini (model) - walking round not really getting noticed by Sci Fi geeks. Seemed very nice
Tom Baker - Dude.
Spotted Tasha Yar (Star Trek), Warwick Davis (Star Wars) Frank Bruno, that rugby bloke who used to be Question of Sport, bloke out of American Warewolf in Londonand a load of Sci Fi type people I didn't recognise plus a load of footballers but didn't have chance to meet them thanks to Sky and theirearly kick off. Had to leg it at 11.30 smileys/smiley19.gif, but can't complain as the main objective was to meet Bully.
Would highly recommend it if you want to kill some time.

I've met Bully a few times at London Wolves functions and he is indeed a lovely bloke. Friendly and unassuming.

Chris Barrie played Rimmer, Lister was played by Craig Charles. What was the inside info about the film?
Well spotted that man. It was Rimmer indeed. I just wanted to 'out' fellow geeks on the board smileys/smiley2.gif. Lister was meant to be there but didn't turn up BOOOOO
I asked what was happening with the film - as you probably know they have a script, have had read-throughs and have even had costume fittings. Filming has never started so I asked the question and he answered:
"If you'd asked me last week, the answer would have been no. But something has happened in the last few days that means it's going to happen"
"What - like someone's come up with the funding?"
*nods*.
Don't shoot the messanger etc smileys/smiley1.gif

I sincerely hope you got all of their autographs, get them on ebay andthat little lot could see you into a very comfortable retirement.
I was there earlier and got Bully to sign a book for my brother. He was a really nice guy and it was great to meet him.
Primarily I was there to get the autograph of Ashley Laurence (Kirsty from Hellraiser). She is hot!
I got a load off Bully which aren't going anywhere except the one for my bro, signed photo of Dave Prowse, Kryton, Rimmer (for my bro), and a calendar from Lelaini which was a sympathy buy as no-one wastalking to her and all the other queues were packed (that's what I told themissus anyway smileys/smiley1.gif)
Would feel weird about selling them though! Got them towrite them out to me, which would probably reduce the value!

Really cool wasn't it? Didn't know what to expect but I'd go again.
Trust me to miss the hot girl... I was rushing round like a bluearsed fly though.

:D
Yea, she's got wonderful eyes and looks better now than she did in the first 2 films back in 1987/88.
It wasn't the best lineup this time round in fairness, but I've gotten
some good autographs over the last few visits - my personal fave being
Eliza Dushku who is simply stunningly beautiful!

Agree with you on that one. She is incredibly tasty.
I thought it was a pretty cool mix of people. Definitely worth going early and paying a bit extra IMHO. I really enjoyed it... then the match brought me back down again.
I'll probably go again next time.
Did Denise Crosby look as you expected?? I was really surprised as she looked older than I expected, but to be fair they started filiming ST: Next Generation back in the 80s...

I'm going to Memorabilia tomorrow. I've been a few times before. Sometimes the guests are good....other times, not so good.

Was good yesterday - but maybe I'm easily pleased.
On the site it says Bully's there again tomorrow!

Couldn't be arsed in the end. Although in some capacity i'm certain it's a good thread.

No I'm not a Star Wars or Star Trek geek. I'm only interested in the horror film stuff.
Big queues to see George Romero today. Only got one autograph. Bill
Moseley who played Otis in House of 1000 Corpses/The Devils Rejects.
