View Full Version : Hoddles 5 out of seven
Hod's 80s perm

Okay, we're three matches into our seven cruch games and if we are to reach Glenda's aim of 5 wins we now need to win the next four against Ipswich, Crystal Palace, Leeds and Reading.
Somehow, I can't see us winning anymore than 2 let alone all four so it looks like we've falled short again. Still, it's only half way and we can't really look at the table until the last twelve games can we???

On another point, if results stay the same Burnley and Stoke will go above us today and will be joined by Cardiff if they beat Ipswich on Monday.
That would leave us 10th, with a team low in confidence and a manager that is about as tactically effective as Saddam Hussein in the second gulf war.
Looks good for the rest of the season doesn't it!!

SSN has us in 9th place but only 1 point behind Burnley in 6th.
Still all to play for and with 25 games left left plenty of points available but there must be vast improvement over he past 2 games for u to achive any form of success.

Whilst I applaud your following from relatively afar, your one liner "we will go up" appears more moronic as weeks go by.What exactly do you base this assumption on? It cannot be on performances as we are as far away from promotion as we have been in any season in this division.Today was awful.Sheff Utd was awful etc etc.
So why exactly will we go up?

Definately, I thought you'd have guessed that as soon as he said we'd go up.smileys/smiley2.gif

I still think we will go up too actually. We just have not had our run of form yet. We will have one and when we do it will put us firmly in the playoffs. The later the run, the more in form we will be...
long way to go yet, and when some of our injuries are sorted things will only get better. If this is rock bottom, it isn't as bad as people are making out.

Injured players?........... Jackie Mc out for season, who knows if we'll ever see him in a Wolves shirt again;Miller will be back soon, just in time to leave for Scotland and anyway hasn't been scoring goals; Cort could come in to play on the wing again, has scored some goals this season but without ever looking convincing; Clyde, would he really make any difference? Young Davies, great hope for the future but won't be first choice in midfield; Craddock, will be back to be, well, Craddock! Incey, may come back, but a season too far anyway. Can't think of anyone else. Oh yes, Matt Murray......?...... hope I'm wrong but he's beguinning to look like a great goalkeeper grafted on to the wrong pair of legs!
All in all I don't see the return of our injured heros making much difference to our league position. The situation is the same as it's been for the past year of time-wasting........we need new players, real players, not media rumours put about by Moxey. We already have no chance of automatic promotion and no guarantee of even a play-off spot with or without the return of our injured.
The next transfer deadline will be make or break for the club. If there are no new players by the end of January, and all weget is moreexcuses from the club ( Moxey ), the gates will drop and so will season ticket sales. At that point declinecould really set in and as we all know, a club run as businesswith owners who don't care can fall very quickly.

Have we ever won four games in a row under Hod? is there anything seen in recent games that would indicate such a likelihood?
At present we seem to have gone back to the situation of last mid-season. Plenty of drawn games but not enough wins to get a play-off spot. We dropped out of the top six in mid October and have only spent one week back there since. Take away the results against the very poor Derby and Norwich sides and we would now be in the bottom half of the table.
I keep hearing that Wolves are a very good footballing side. Well I have the feeling that the media are having us on. We can "football" all we like but we ain't getting results, and being told that I'm watching "good football" when I'm actually being bored to tears is just a bit annoying!

In the coming weeks we will have the return or Miller, Cort, Ince, Rickets, Craddock andDavies.
If we keep the current playing squad fit we will have no excuses but to push on up this division and try for automatic promotion.
If we get any players in during January we will at worst cement a place in the play offs, and i remember the last time we were there, so I am feeling strangely positive about the future of this season!
The futures bright, the futures Old Gold!

HEW, it clearly isnt very pretty at the moment. But when you say Miller isnt scoring goals - he has scored 9 (or is it 10?) this season in all competitions, and yes not all in the league, but he is (was) scoring. And as for Cort - he can look as crap as he likes if he is going to be top scorer in the league, as he was when he went out injured.
im all for a bit of realism, but on the flip side - lets also be realistic that having these two back in the side would be a positive

They are still on course. Wolves are not a team known to peak early. Rejoice, recently we have had more clean sheets than a house full of no armed eunachs.

Goddle should apologise to the fans (the people who care one or more iotas about the club).
If he's going to set stupid targets and fail after 3 games then he should admit he set a stupid target and we failed after 3 games.

Sorry, I saw Cort before his injury against Leicester-at least I think he played, it was difficult to tell-& he hadn't got a clue without someone like Miller making space & runs for him.

If all the speculation is to be believed we will have Hendrie instead of Huddlestone and McLeod instead of Miller.Whether this will be better or not?

Frankly I think we could have the Barcelona squad and they wouldn't be able to play under Hoddle's meaningless tactics.

Hendrie looked like Villa's best player on yesterday's MOTD highlights. In their current situation, I wouldn't have thought they could afford to lose him.

Zigzag, the impression you get is that Villa are in even more chaos than us....and that is some achievement.
