What about the gullible people who attached themselves to him?

ah this brings back memories of my favourite crash and burn on here. I can't remember the ID's sadly, but it went:

Poster1: they even believe it if you tell them that gullable isn't in the dictionary

Poster2: it isn't

superb

People who believe what they want to believe, not what they think is true.

Where any of them Hoddle fans?

The most disturbing character in the documentary was that woman from
Sheffield who spent seven years doing loyalty tests for Freegard,
living rough in places like Heathrow airport without taking a shower
for all that time.

The second most disturbing character was that bloke who willingly
allowed himself to get beaten up by Freegard, spent two and a half
years waiting in Travelodges 'waiting' for him, and whose family handed
over £350,000 to Freegard before sussing out it was a con!

She did 7 years of Loyalty Tests – sometime she cut a Mars Bar into slices so it lasted a week whilst living rough in $$$$$holes like Leicester and <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Hemel Hempstead!! And she said "I used to live off a loaf of white bread a week, when I
got to the bottom of the bag and pulled out the crust covered in green
mould I used to say to myself 'surely my life can't get any worse than
this?'"

I missed the first 10 minutes. How did Hendy Freegard convince the initial two ( that bloke and the fat permed woman ) that he had inside info on an IRA threat – or were they really that gullible? Plus, surely ANYBODY would get suspicious after 4 years of having their WHOLE life organised?? Theres no way I would have gone on that programme if I was that bloke who got conned ( Atkinson? )! Its not as if its going to happen again is it?

Believe it or not, Hendy Freegard was working behind the bar in their
local pub (The Swan?) and simply got talking to them. He spun a tale of
bulls!$* and they believed him.

There was astudent of Harper Adams who was picked up in London carrying weapons for the IRA, he convinced those idiots, through his job in the pubthat there was an IRA cell active in Harper Adams and he enlisted them.

Unbelievably gullable people, I was only surprised he managed to con only one Yank I'd have thought he would have targeted them and had loads on the go.

Amazing story all the same, if it wasn't for the witnesses giving their accounts bit would really be up in the realms of total fiction.Edited by: Shergar

just watched it and cant believe the stupidity of these people!!!

would have been a much better program if they'd interviewed him at the end:

"why did you do it to those people for so many years?"

"it was a laugh innit?"
