View Full Version : Ganea the new Muscat?

I'm looking forward to the return of Vio Ganea again tonight - and as we're so far away from the pitch hopefully he wont come rushing up to the fans after scoring this time and getting himself booked!

However, something occured to me the other day and I don't think its really been up for discussion here. He is a bit of a live wire isn't he. Dont get me wrong, its about time we had that bite in the team again, but he does tend to go over the edge. I wouldn't quite say "Headless Chicken" but he does like to leave his mark in a challenge or two. The thing is, although Muscat got booked alot, he also got away with loads too. Hopefully Ganea can do the same.

He has been guilty of a few - John Kennedy in the Romania v Scotland game and a nasty 2 footer on Gerrardnear the end of the Liverpool match at Molineux spring to mind.

I like his attitude and willingness to fight for the team - we need some of it at the moment! Viooooo, Viooooo!

what a load of rubbish!!! he doesn't fight for the team at all, he's been pulled up for silly fouls more than any of our other players this season and he's hardly played!! i bet you're one of the ones who acts like we are bringing on Ronaldinho when he warms up!!

Disagree with you there, you seem an angry little boy today.

Give him a chance he is a damn sight better than Clarke but then again he is a proven International with a semi decent country to represent rather than a fat sunday league wannabe. In the latter stages of the prem season Vio fought and fought when others simply gave up. Elland road in the 4-1 defeat being a particularly good example. His second yellow against Preston was for a foul commited by Edwards!

I cheer any player who plays for Wolves during the game if anything as a motivational tool. I bet your one of the idiots who goes to games to hurl abuse and undermine the team rather than actually support those who can make your team successful!

What i'm saying is is that Ganea will not make my team successful in my opinion. What has he actually done for Wolves since he's been here? and before the injury how many goals did he score for Wolves for him to be given this hero status that he seems to get when he's just jogging up and down the side line? i agree he's better than Clarke but it amazes me that some people seem to think he is the answer to our problems. He's a slow 32 year old with a tempremant problem!

If he he's too slow to play up front, but likes a bit of it, then maybe we could put him in the w/anchor role in midfield.

Everyone who's bought FM 06 can have a go and see if it's successful, if it is then we can do it on Saturday, although I'm pretty sure all that ProZone is is just a glorified FM/CM database.

Been out injured for a year and still scored probably the best taken striker's goal seen at the Molineux this season. Nothing like giving a chance to find your match legs is there ?

The main reason fans chant for Vio is that they know when he gets his chance to play he actually looks like he gives a f*$k !!!

so that is how you base the quality of a player is it? how much they want to play for the club. Emblem was known to be a worker but we knew he wasn't that good, Naylor loves ther club to death yet we have all still got on his back over the years at times. Vio is a decent hard working player but for me is not good enough for wolves and the only reason he is playing is because of injurys to Cort, Miller and Ndah simple as!!!

paddingtonwolf
01-11-2005, 17:06
how many international caps has Cort got, or Ndah?

Romania are no tin-pot side either.

Ganea is top class and injury has prevented us seeing more than fleeting glimpses of his talent- all of which have been tremendous

not good enough for Wolves? What on earth do you base that on?

i may be wrong so correct me if you must but has Vio even got into double figures as a wolves player yet?? I don't think he has and yes i know he's been out for ages injured yet you are putting him in the same catagory as Sir steve bull who amassed 306 goals for us.

watching him play! when everyone is fit he'll be lucky to be on the bench, i've said it before and i'll say it again, he doesn't suit the formation Glenn prefers when everyone is fit, he is too slow for the wider attatcking roles and can't hold the ball up well enough for the central postion. I hope he scores tonight as hopefully it will mean a wolves win but i will stick to my argument that although he is obviuosly a good palyer andwas at some point a very good player he is not the answer to our attacking problems. I apoligise if i have been abrupt with you but i am just shocked at how once again a season seems to be falling apart.

second attempt here (first reply disappeared in a "service unavailable ooh crap have I been banned" sort of way)

Ganea is an international striker of great ability and passion for the game.

He is therefore a worthy candidate to be allowed to wear the legend's number 9.

Of course, he is not SGB himself or indeed in the same category

edit: no need to apologise for being abrupt. I have had far worse on here before and at least we are arguing about Wolves related matters!Edited by: paddingtonwolf

We need a nasty Barsteward in the squad.

Gives defending players something to worry about.

Ganea can bring that fear to a team if he carries on as he has done in the past!smileys/smiley2.gif

before he got injured he scored against arsenal at molineux and newcastle at st james park. he's a very good finisher when he's fit and has got a good attitude with the supporters .

I dont think the fact that someone may or may not suit the formation Glenn prefers is a good enough reason to criticise a player. Quite clearly the formation glenn prefers has failed to put balls in the net at one end and failed to keep them out at the other. You are too easily flattered, I suspect, by the fact that Cort has scored 9. With all the chancescreated he should have scored 19 by now. Even Hoddle criticises the lack of bite in the team. We need players like Ganea and without Ince in the team, we need them twice as much.

Ganea is the only natural finisher we have at the club. The problem is that now he is back in the team, we have no Miller to work with him and the midfield have stopped creating chances.

Vio likes to get stuck in but he doesn't look match fit to me and if he dives in with rash challenges then he will do us more harm than good, IE V's PNE.

It's looks to me as though that injury has finished him off though.

On what I've seen, given the nature of the injury, yes I can.

Tell you what though if you think that he'll be offerred a new contract in the summer I'll stand corrected.

I dont think anyone else could have volleyed in like that, possibly Miller if he was given a few attempts!

Ahhh well the first claim does not equate with the second one. I agree he wont be offered one unless he lashes in a few quick goals and saves the season. That is a bit much to ask for someone just back from injury.
