Asked if that was a problem he said no, he loved it, it made him feel he was playing at a big club and the pressure made him raise his game. Great bloke and a great player, we could do with a few like him. Axle 01-11-2005, 14:03 I was born in Mansfield, so I hope the boy does a good job there. I used to like him as a player too, good in the air, committed and strong in the tackle. Reminds me of PB. GT made a lot of good signings didn't he, and then when he got a bit of cash he couldn't compete. Maybe we should bring in Paul Simpson to replace GH. PS That's an aside, not a proposition! wolfan 01-11-2005, 14:05 Another fan of Peter Shirtliff here, if only we could have him alongside Lescott nowadays, a player like him is certainly something we've been missing this season. SOA Wolf 01-11-2005, 14:36 I posted the other day that we made a mistake with giving Taylor the manager's job, we should have paid him more shoved him upstairs and behind the scenes to organise the backroom.....a job he did brilliantly for us and left Shrtliff as manager with support from Taylor. As DW said his record with us was brilliant at a time of difficulty.
