View Full Version : is the war chest slightly ajar??
Just read a headline that hoddle is counting down the days till january
for the war chest to be opened. Surely another one of moxey's
porky pies to keep us fans off his back.

No point in having money to spend if quality players don't want to come to molineux!
Jackie McNamara is the only success we had, but now he is crocked!

The news that Wolves may be willing to splash the cash in January has leaked out now to give the other clubs time to put the prices up.
Wolves calling= add £1m to the price.
I hadnt noticed the similarity between Sven and Homer before

If your squad in August can't cut the mustard you shouldn't expect too much from January signings.
January is a time to tweakthings. Expecting agreat (16 point) turn aroundis probably asking a little too much.

There was money in the summer. Hoddle didn't spend it because there was no-one available who he thought could improve the squad - he's said it many times

the warchest has been open since June, but Hoddle has found the right player. he doesn't want excellent championship players, he wants decent Premier League players to help us stay up next season. I'd rather have the money in the bank than waste it on the Nigerian Vieira.

Then he has a lot to learn about this league. He should concentrate on the present and not try and plan for a future we might not have.

Brilliant. I think another period of instability and flapping around looking for a new manager is just what we need, when we're in the god awful position of two points outside the play-offs.

Ace. I reckon we should get rid of the manager too, and pick the team based on who the South Bank think is bostin/a $$$$$ing disgrace this week.

yeah, good idea. lets get rid of the man that has made Wolves self-sufficient, and rely on a sugar daddy to bail us out season after season after season. Its not Jez's job to be popular. It's his job to be the CEO of a football club, which he does very well.
It's his job to be the CEO of a football club, which he does very well.
He makes money and no freinds, you can do both. Instead off putting up season ticket prices by 15% to cover shortfall, he could have apologised to the fans for the poor season, taken a publicpay cut frozen prices and encouraged more to renew. Would it have worked? Who knows but it would go towards keeping the fans on side with the club. All we get is screw more cash ideas out of him and more fans alienated.
We didn't need to sell the ticketline operation, we could have said that making sure the fans phone calls don't cost a fortune was more important than the few quid.
It's always the bottom line with Moxey, he never thinks about customer relations.

nuts.
JM's one and only job is to ensure that the manager has as much money as possible in order to be as succesful as possible.
Look at the Wolves' bottom line since he's been CEO.
The days where we had to go cap in hand to SJH at the end of every year
to pay off the losses are pretty much over. Is that not a good thing?
Del Woppio

when Moxey came over, nearly every operation in the club was losing/costing too muchmoney. The lottery, ticket offices, etc etc.
We are now a self suffiecient football club that is in a position to prosper in the future. we are not in danger. we are making money, which is going straight back into the club. we owe nobobdy anything. we don't have to beg SJH when we need cash. we are an attractive proposition, all because of Jez.
Would you rather have a Risdale? a jordan? a kenwright? We are bloody lucky to have Jez, and he deserves every penny of his salary for what he has done for this club.
The days where we had to go cap in hand to SJH at the end of every year to pay off the losses are pretty much over. Is that not a good thing?
Yes.
Don't view everything so black and white. Jez does lots of good things, but his answer is always to put the prices up first without trying other methods.
Are you telling me that the hundred thousand for selling the ticket operation are vital to the running of the club?
Everything he does is not right, and caring about the fans, is part of his job IMO.

It is not possible for a CCC club (with ambition) to make money.
Without SJH's largesse, WWFC would be no better off than a dozen CCC clubs. Fat Jez deserves little praise for continuing the high wage strategy, which without promotion this season, will leave the clubfinancially vunerable.

How you can say that he doesn't care about the fans I'll never know.
Now that I have to pay a £5 admin charge for my season ticket, despite using a debit card rather than a credit card, I can't afford as many Yorkies. As a result, I'm lighter and fitter.
Nervous energy has also helped my weight loss program overseen by fatboy. Every time I read that it's the fans fault, I recall his matchday notes from last season when he proved his true credentials in a kiss and tell - "it's the fan's fault not mine".
But the best one is that my blood boiling helps to promote weight loss as well. I have argued that the only time since the SJH moeny that the players looked like they wanted to get promoted was under DJ.
What if our CEO really enjoys being the big wig in the lower divisions having been ignored by almost every CEO/Chairman in the prem or maybe he knows, like a large number of players inour squad, thathe's not good enough to cut it in the top flight but likes his monthly pay cheque? Just a thought
We've got plenty of cash, so now we just need to identify the targets and spend in Jan. Moxey is a $$$$$$$**r and Stoke were glad to get shot of him, but he achieved a lot there (new stadium, established CCC team etc) and a little tough medicine is what we needed.
We can still go up, but the right players have to be brought in ASAP and of course it's better to have a stable club than one in debt, but a SUCCESSFUL club is one that truly makes money and it seems to be this logical connection that Moxey has failed to take.
In short he deserves the money he gets for the slating he gets on this board alone. Not so sure about Hoddle though . . . what are we paying him for? Making us 'Hard to beat?' Bolloc4$, The Times got it right on Monday 'Since Hoddle's arrival Wolves have drawn 26 from 49 games, meaning Wolves are a 20-goal a season man short of being a good side.'
Maybe Kenny Miller as a striker would be a good signing?

Yet again missing the point DW aren't you.
2 point outside the play offs, playing football at the same pathetic level as under Jones, if notworse, looking completely toothless and week in all positions, having secured the brilliance of 3 points from five home games, and with a manager that will not change his stupid belief that 4-3-3/4-5-1 works for this squad.
